I spent a while yesterday reading Goons arguing over whether Suckerpunch is a clever commentary on how female empowerment in popular film is actually female exploitation in disguise, made worse because every 'faux empowerment' flick degrades our ability to tell the difference, or if it's simply a shitty film with good effects.

Personally I won't see it, because although I'm down with the samurai robots and nazis, I'm not going to pay cash to see anyone get the icepick treatment.
