A corollary of the last Bleach wank.
Okay, I know. It's Bleach again. But this has been going to HUGE lenghts lately, and it keeps on and on.


Chapter 462 is released, and there's a scene in which Orihime expresses a rather tearful relief that, after quite the mindfuck that recently happened, Ichigo is doing better. Sounds like it's a cute and touching scene, right?

Looks like it's not, since YET AGAIN a certain part of the fandom is up in arms.

* Obviously, the first part to blow is the IchiRuki FC. Much Orihime hate ensues: she's shallow, she's selfish, she's a baby, she's to blame for her own brainwashing via Tsukishima, she will never measure up to Rukia, etc. Normal stuff.

* Debbiechan and Co. don't take it well either, and the Orihime hatred gets so bad that a mod has to stop it. Bonus for Debbie making it ~all about Ishida ~ in one of their comments.

ETA: * Saiyan from the last wank tries to pull similar stuff on the One Manga forums LULZ are had, tho.



This is standard for Bleach fandom, yes. But here is where it gets a little "weird".


* By Thursday, the day after the chapter's release, more than one Orihime hate thread appears at /a/, the Anime board on 4chan. /a/ normally doesn't care a lot about Bleach afaik, so this is a little odd. It gets weirder when you check on them and you notice that many of the comments are actually almost c/p-ed from arguments already seen in Bleachness. (And not to mention, the threaders resort to actually drop screencaps from FLOL, the "famous" IchiHime forum that happens to be friendslocked, and you know that using locked stuff isn't exactly cool.) Soon people catch on that, though, and the wank itself dies soon since other threads are ignored. Note: The link up here offers the html version of only one of these threads.

* The whole stuff is reported to wank_report. It gets wanky, predictably. Of special notice are these two threads: the first has some anons going "LOL ichihimes so wanky" and getting "LOL U" replies, and the second attempts to "prove" that everyone hates Orihime to death... using Naruto Fan forums as serious evidence.

* As a tiny bonus: fail fandom anon has its thoughts on this too.

* The last stage? Tv Tropes seems to be the last "victim" of the "let's hate and bash Orihime" sort-of campaign. Again with wanky wording, screencaps of friendslocked stuff, and bashing of a more or less known IchiHime fan for "not replying to her critics".


PD: As a sort-of bonus... An anon requested some peeks into Naruto fandom, and here is a very telling link. Threads and threads of Sakura Haruno bashing, to scary and maybe even squicky levels of character hate and misogyny. Truly, she's among the few charas that can "claim" to be as hated as Orihime is.

Now we need One Piece wank and we're ready with the Big Three of Shonen Jump. Any good links?

ETA 2: The wank seems to still be going. At least enought to have Debbie pull the offensive card and use out of context Bible quotes in her BA signature to favor IchiRuki over IchiHime. And for an anti-IchiHime gif to bring up quite the reactions when it's posted on tumblr's "Ichihime" tag.

ETA 3: Offensive signature is taken down. Debbie still whines (and possibly lies) about it being Yuri/Lunatic related.
