Another Mini-Gaming Wank
It's been quiet and this one is fairly light so thought I'd offer it at least:

Nintendo released a 25th anniversary book for Zelda called Hyrule Historia.

In it, the Timeline To Rule All Timelines is Released

This goes over about as well as you'd expect, with people still in denial about whether it is official or just some publisher's idea, Nintendo's just making shit up to please the fanboys, fanboys who know too much versus fanboys who know too much and your usual gnashing of teeth.

Of course there's always what's going to happen to the fanboys once Miyamoto finds out...

Honestly I expected zelda wank, but I figured it would be about skyward swords terrible, terrible controls and the fact they apperantly plan to continue with them in future games.

Part of me is curious about whatever happened to the lefty/righty orientation. I remember delicious, delicious drama about ~lefty oppression~ on fandomsecrets when it was decided Link would be made right-handed for the majority of players (though hilariously, being a lefty, I game right-handed anyway...) and I'd love to know if that ever became A Thing and Nintendo integrated some kind of option.

Nothing, although I miss seeing lefty-Link. I think a really determined player could switch hands though and still be okay, as long as you position well.

...that sounds kind of dirty...

I thought the controls were OK (seriously, after playing Okami on the Wii, I feel outright spoiled by the Motion Plus). I was disappointed by a bunch of other things though. To be fair, I still haven't beaten the game, but nothing will make me forgive the shameless padding that were the Silent Realms D:

Surprisingly...

The second playthrough I didn't feel at all upset about the Silent Realms. It was all quiet and peaceful and stuff.

The hell part of Ancient Cistern though... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU NINTENDO, REALLY?!

Isn't this the fandom where trying to figure out the timeline supplanted shipping as the One True Serious Business? If so, I'd expect everyone's own efforts at a timeline being Jossed to generate epic wank.

I was expecting more to be honest. I didn't look too hard though playing Kingdom Hearts now

But Nintendo Jossed everyone by adding a third timeline. Not even the good Doctor can keep up with it now!

They have to. Dear lord they have to although mine's already on order omg i hope it ships i hope it ships ;.; I think they will though, if only because Nintendo knows people will buy it for well over the real value.

I want the playing cards too. I love collecting playing cards!

Am I the only one who LIKES the new timeline?

Seriously. The only problem with it I have is the Oracles games coming between Link to the Past and Link's Awakening.

ALTTP coming from a timeline where Link got a "game over" in Ocarina, and thus forcing the sages to do it themselves, syncs up really well with ALTTP's intro, which the ending of Ocarina itself didn't quite do.

The only part I don't like is Minish Cap coming before Ocarina, pet peeve of mine that these little mini-pixies are all like "We MADE the sword!' pfft no I hate those stu pid pixie-people. Otherwise this is about as clean as they can get it. And there's still plenty of room to expand so everything's all good.

Hah, Zelda timeline wank is always hilarious.

Zelda fans really are a group of their own, just take a look at them reacting to "bad" reviews (bad as in the reviewer didn't praise a Zelda game enough).
