How I love me some RP wank.
The Master's been a naughty boy recently.

[info]ofdrumsthesound is an RP journal for the Master from Doctor Who that appears to have gained some measure of notoriety around my local RP meme comms. I can't personally comment on their IC conduct since I've never interacted with them but I've gathered from a few of my colleagues that they tend to be both out-of-character and not an easy character to deal with.

[info]memebells seems to agree. Last month a How's My Driving post went sour as people came in to critique [info]ofdrumsthesound's characterization, particularly their refusal to expand the character and their fascination with cannibalism. [info]ofdrumsthesound takes it badly.

Can you just stop? I've spent the whole day being attacked, so just SHUT UP ALREADY!

If you don't want me to do something tell me in the damn play thread and I'll try to change it, but don't pretend to like me and then attack me!

I never complain about anything, have you noticed? I don't bash people, I don't start stupid dramas and I let people go further then I shoud, but that doesn't mean you can fuck with me forever.

Today in the OOC Rant post they pop up again as an anon and are easily unmasked by another anon. [info]ofdrumsthesound continues to be angry that people are criticizing them and continually demands to know what specifically they're doing wrong, despite many commenters pointing out exactly what they're doing wrong.

But apparently it's because autism?

No, it's not enough. I'm autistic, half the time I can't understand when I'm told explicitly, being ignored makes me try harder.

Or because they need to identify with (their version of) the Master so hard because it's the only thing they can do.

I don't know how to not upset them, I guess. I'm doing my best to be nice, but I'm not good with theory of mind. I've spent much of my life stubbornly talking about subjects no one else is interested in, because it's the only kind of communication I know. And currently my interest is 'being the Master'. Before that my interests included 'being Medusa' and 'being a spider'.

Some plucky girl detective work turned up a screened comment thread that appears to have been replicated over here, though of course I can't speak to its authenticity completely. It seems to have gone about the same way.

It's just that I don't deserve this, so I forget the trolls are all out to get me.

Silly of me, I know.

So why are you here, [info]ofdrumsthesound?

Because I have an opinion, and an anonymous comment saying I don't want anonymous comments would be silly.

I guess I didn't think the whole damn place would jump on me.

Apparently you thought wrong.

EDIT: Apparently this has been going on for several years, in different incarnations. A BRPS post explains the player's time at [info]dear_multiverse, which includes conduct like this and driving off multiple players through their behavior. This eventually resulted in a ban for being a general godmoding squeeharshing buzzkill.

I don't think autism and social awkwardness are going to explain a multiyear fetish for creeping people out.
