And so, someone asks: "What's a Regnant?"

I think the whole Regnant thing was created by us, the fans, back in the early days when we didn’t know that much about Renard. (Not that we know all the much now.) It’s what we decided Renard’s creature name was going to be. I believe the first story to feature Renard as a Regnant was actually a fill posted on this meme but has since been moved to AO3. To my knowledge the story is This Isn’t Everything You Are by Macx. I guess it’s more fanon than anything else.

The anon disagrees that it's not popular enough to be fanon, because fanon is done via voting or something now, and thorneofacre joins in to defend the widespread use of Regnant as a species name.

I like this thread for two reasons: One, the Anon keeps busting out charmers like: "i checked it out, but the writing is kind of terrible. thanks for the rec anyway." and Thornofacre eventually claims that expecting IC in slash is just being a sillybilly.
