HDU spoil a book that's 75 years old!
smilla840 is unhappy because a Hobbit fanfic didn't warn for spoilers. Cue laughter.

More like "HDU spoil a massively popular and influential 75-year-old book which I already read but forgot the ending to, and for which I'm reading future fic but still expect said future fic to contain no spoilers."

Or in short, "How dare the world not revolve around me!"

Also, Tolkien was a WWI vet. Nobody should be surprised when he kills off all the cute, young, sympathetic ones.

(Sidenote: Haven't watched the film yet, but just found out that Legolas's dad is being played by the Piemaker. LOL WUT that's awesome.)

Guy from Pushing Daisies. The Piemaker. You die and he pokes you and then you're alive again.

... HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THIS

There is something adorable about the idea of an elf king baking pies

He is so pretty in the movie, I can't. I didn't think he was unattractive as the Piemaker but holy crap.

And he rides an Irish elk in the prologue.

I think the Elken King was legit my favorite part of the movie, and it's like twenty seconds. That was just SO RANDOM.

Mine too, only I'm bad at animal identification. I was like "is that a war moose?" and pretty much spent the rest of the movie randomly snickering about it.

I am totally going to call them "war moose" now.

My excuse was that since Irish elk are extinct, I have no frame of reference for them, so OF COURSE my brain flashed MOOSE.

The majestic MOOSE!

Moose actually are pretty majestic, it's just... MOOSE.

Did someone call for moose?

Speaking of unorthodox animal-powered transport, I will be severely disappointed if a particular chase scene fails to yield fanvids to both "Wipeout" and "Yakety Sax."

Haven't watched the film yet, but just found out that Legolas's dad is being played by the Piemaker

I KNOW, RIGHT? The minute he first showed up on screen, I immediately thought "Heyyyy, I know those eyebrows!"

And what's better? I just found out Thranduil was originally going to be played by David Tennant. So, either way, he would still be my favorite part of the movie.
