Yeeeah. That...doesn't add up the way you think it does, guys.

Also I'm laughing at the one who thinks Heart Gold/Soul Silver were the best. Best interface, maybe, but the level curve is awful, not improved at all from GSC. It did a few other weird things too, and I lost my Pokewalker in a jacket pocket for ages and only found it like last month, so I don't exactly...agree on those being omgawesome.

I really like HG SS for the sheer amount of STUFF you could explore in. And it had so very many legendaries hidden within. Plus I did like that they actually found a use for the DS touchscreen besides just a menu you cal just as easily pull up with X.

That said, Black and White massively improved speed and level grinding so it is hard to go back to the older versuins to play.

Then again I cannot for the life of me understand folks who want a Ruby Sapphire remake because that had the least amount of conent of all of them. O.o

Y'know, for the first three generations of Pokemon and their remakes, I always went with the fire starter. For the last two, I've gone with the water starter. This time, I'm bucking the trend and going back to fire. Frogs are cute and all, but flaming fennec fox OMG SQUEE. If I had the energy, I'd probably be doing little arm-flails in real life, as opposed to just in my head.

...Oh, yeah, there was a wank here, wasn't there? Oh, Pokefandom, you really will never change.

I think that all three starters in Gen 4 are amazing. Infernape turns into a speed demon, Empoleon hits like a runaway train and his Steel subtype means that he's practically an armored cannon, and Torterra is almost impossible to hurt with anything but Ice (he's powerful enough that Fire doesn't seem to hurt him as badly as you'd expect!) and I think that the final Gym is electric (at least, in Platinum!), so his Ground subtype makes him perfect for taking that gym on.

I like the starters in Gen 5, but not as well. Emboar is pretty damned powerful -- and you keep Flame Rush on him, you can counter his innate slowness by using it repeatedly. Serperior gets some good Grass attacks, and Samurott is one of only a handful of Pokemon who can use False Swipe.

(BTW: Samurott in Pokemon Conquest is goddamned broken. Incredibly powerful, hits three squares at a time and pushes back, and is remarkably accurate. Then again, Serperior and Emboar are almost broken in that game too.)

I don't have much of an opinion about the Gen 2 starters, since I've only ever used Chikorita, because it's so effing cute.

I hope I can get more work so I can have a 3DS by October.

There are other games I want it for, but I don't mind playing them much later than everybody else. But I hate to not get in at the beginning of a new Pokemon game, now that there's wi-fi trading.

But if the Grass starter really evolves into grass/dark and the fire into fire/psychic I am really going to be torn between those two. Usually I pick the grass starter though, and I do like dark types so... that may be it.

	3ds yes 3ds is surprisingly epic. I actually really like the Kingdom Hearts game for it and I do not usually go for that series. Samurai Warriors Chronicles is good too. I got one early and got the ambassador program which is only awesome bc I got Fire Emblem 8. <3 (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Ah, Pokemon new game wank. Always a classic. Gen V: "Why are all the games the same, they need to change it up some, Pokemon's gotten so boring and predictable." Gen VI: "OMG those bastards how dare you change things?! 2D pixels 4 life!"

Someone on another forum pointed out that now we will at last have a pokemon numbered 666. I'm hoping it's something exceedingly cute so it'll be all the more amusing when I catch it and nickname it 'Satan.'

	Omg, this looks SO CUTE. It's almost exactly what I've always wanted from a Pokemon game - except tbh I've always wanted one for a big console like an XBox360 or whatever. I just prefer playing on a big screen. (I really hope, if you can see your character the whole time, they make the appearance customisable. I want to make my own Pokemon trainer!) (Reply to this)

	I don't much follow Pokemon anymore, but what I never understood about people getting mad at the release of new games is, if you really love the original 151 set so much and consider yourself a purist, why not just continue replaying them on your old school GameBoy?
