So, for those of us who don't speak German, what's the error? A mismatch in grammatical gender, poor agreement between adjective and noun (or should there have been...I don't know what it's called in German where what would be a phrase in, say, English or French is written smooshed together)? Not that it will help me, it'll just bug me if I don't know.

Yeah, I only took, like, 15 hours of German, but "Die" and "Schwarze" look feminine to me, whereas "Engel" is masculine.

Then again, maybe "die" is intended as an order! ("It's German for The Bart, The".)

Engel is masculine, but the plural doesn't change, so...but then it should be schwarzen, iirc, so still wrong.

It appears to be a singular angel, judging from the summary (but who knows) - so "schwarze" is correct, but "die" isn't. You're right otherwise; if it was a plural, it should be "schwarzen".

"Schwarze" is masculine; it's an adjective, and adjective endings can look illogical. But "die" doesn't fit with it. It should be "Der schwarze Engel".

Heh, your suggestion makes a lot of sense.

Ah, good to know! I forgot there were exceptions with the accordance of adjectives. Thanks for the correction.

It's the gender - "Engel" is masculine, and the adjective fits that, but the article used is the feminine one.
