Yeah. I can't imagine it's easy to become a BNF on tumblr, where it's mostly about the visuals and people aren't really "opinion-shapers" with long meta-posts as it once was on message boards and LJ's. Not that meta doesn't happen, it's just very different on there.

On the other hand, I feel like the idea of somebody being hounded by (fake sockpuppet) trolls, be they homophobic or racist or whatever, could be replicated in today's fandom as well, though I think people who knew the Msscribe saga would be twice shy about believing it. Maybe. Hopefully?
