Because otherwise, it's just a version of otherkin to me - I mentally consider soulbonding/astral plane stuff to be a subset of otherkin, or maybe closely related? like instead of it being Joe who thinks he's Other, he's normal, it's his True Love who is Other. Or sometimes both. Seems to be closely linked, anyway.
