Just In Time For FW's Anniversary!
My friends:

I have just found a wank that arguably combines elements of three of the classic wanks recently featured in the Deathmatch: His Wife, A Horse, the Snapewives, and My Ponies Hate You Now.

Simply put: Deviant Art member Kevinsano specializes in My Little Pony art. However, another Bronie recently wrote him a letter asking him to curtail his more erotic MLP art, particularly art depicting Twilight Sparkle - because, argued this correspodent, he and Twilight Sparkle were engaged.

I'm totally head over heels in love with Twilight Sparkle. I have been for 11 months now and at this point I'm in a committed relationship with my Twiley.

Actual email reproduced here. MTV coverage here, and the AV club weighs in here.

Enjoy.

Updated: For your convenience, a dramatic reading of the letter, if you prefer podcasts...

Update the Second: The blushing bridegroom's account of his love story on the MLP fandom fora. (I couldn't get the link to the profile to work, so than you for this!) (Update of the update: link now goes to a Googlecache as the forum link proper stopped working.)

he left his boyfriend of almost eight years for Twilight Sparkle,

That, ladies and gentlemen, is what I call a hard dump. I mean, for all I know the bf was relieved because he might have been tired of triple-dating and only smooching if plushy Twilight Sparkle wasn't looking but...OH MY GOD, you got dumped for a My Little Pony? I need to buy this guy a cookie or something.

Yeah, he definitely deserves something for that.

Like... not being in a relationship with the sort of guy who would dump him for a MLP. I feel like he is Teh WInnar here.

Good point. But I still feel a bit sorry for what he has to go through when people ask him why they broke up.

Having recently gone through a breakup to an embarrassing loser, the typical conversations I have go something like this:

Them: "Oh no! I'm so sad you guys broke up! What happened?"
Me: "[Terribly pathetic story in bullet points, end with huge grin] ... And I'm so much better off!"
T: "Oh my God, yes you are."

And we laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

Did you break up with my ex? Because I'm having the exact same conversations right now. "Oh, I'm so sorry." "I'm not!"

Oh God, yes. I "dated" a guy who... he's probably a Brony now, oh Christ, but in addition to thinking he was Blake (on MySpace), he also claimed he was the ringleader of a Wiccan cult. My friends call him The Wizard.

The next time I went on a date, the guy was in the running for sainthood. I like to think of my trip to Oz as a lesson in IF YOU HAVE TO FORCE YOURSELF NOT TO LAUGH, HIT THE "FUCK OFF" BUTTON AND BOOK IT.

Would that be an MLP or a PILF?

I dunno, if I were the boyfriend I'd be like "Thank you for clearly and unambiguously demonstrating how completely batshit insane you are. I shall now run in the other direction and never look back." Although they're still living in the same house, so who even fucking knows.

Given the origin story, it's possible the breakup triggered the depression that started the MLP fixation, which evolved into this. Or the ex is the enabling friend who suggested bringing the plushie to the restaurant. I have no idea how much our poster actually leaves the house or what he's actually told people -- it wouldn't surprise me if he's a lot less ... strident in real life and there's an element of "if it's helping with his depression, well, it's just a stuffed animal, not something to fight about if he wants to bring it along."
