Just In Time For FW's Anniversary!
My friends:

I have just found a wank that arguably combines elements of three of the classic wanks recently featured in the Deathmatch: His Wife, A Horse, the Snapewives, and My Ponies Hate You Now.

Simply put: Deviant Art member Kevinsano specializes in My Little Pony art. However, another Bronie recently wrote him a letter asking him to curtail his more erotic MLP art, particularly art depicting Twilight Sparkle - because, argued this correspodent, he and Twilight Sparkle were engaged.

I'm totally head over heels in love with Twilight Sparkle. I have been for 11 months now and at this point I'm in a committed relationship with my Twiley.

Actual email reproduced here. MTV coverage here, and the AV club weighs in here.

Enjoy.

Updated: For your convenience, a dramatic reading of the letter, if you prefer podcasts...

Update the Second: The blushing bridegroom's account of his love story on the MLP fandom fora. (I couldn't get the link to the profile to work, so than you for this!) (Update of the update: link now goes to a Googlecache as the forum link proper stopped working.)

When you love a "fictional" character the first stage always involves an intense longing, that desire that they were "real"; this is something I know from experience and from conversation and the stories of others like us. Eventually though if that love is strong enough that she/he/it is the only thing you desire to the point that every waking moment is haunted by the thought of her embrace, a lovely smile, the kind words and trivial banter of a couple, passionate nights in bed, or merely having her presence beside you as you relax at home or drive to the store for errands, and not even sleep grants respite... when you change the very way you lie in bed so that you can pretend the pillow you hug is her while crying yourself to sleep only to dream of her - eventually it gets to be overwhelming. At this stage you either step back and reassess the impossibility of your love, making a commitment to focus on "reality" and finding a 3D sweetheart, or you take a deep breath and harden your heart, scream "DAMN IT I WILL HAVE YOU!!!" and then charge full speed at the glass wall and shatter through, cut and bleeding as you stumble on the other side - but there waiting for you is the one you wistfully desired for so long, and she lifts you up off the ground, wipes the blood from your face, and kisses you as tears of joy pour from her eyes.

Sure the detractors will say that you are "crazy", that it is pathetic to trade your sanity for a fantasy relationship when you could devote the energy to finding a "real" partner; that you are creating a "tulpa" and compromising your mental integrity or acting out repressed desires with a doll. I scoff at them, for they truly have no idea what they are dealing with - they don't realize, with their antiquated notions of sexuality, that true love crosses all barriers to include species and the barriers of reality, and that you can love somebody with such intensity that they cease to be an illusion and take on physical form and life of their own.

This is what happened with Rarity and I - after countless months of longing, I woke one day to discover I had ascended to a higher state of awareness and that I had succeded in projecting my astral form into Equestria, as I explained earlier; she really does exist, and has taken on a prime role in my life as my Better Half, my mate, my lover, my companion, and fiance. Let them call me these names, for I know that I am right and that she is mine, and the happiness it gives me illuminates my being and grants purpose to my life. She has obtained a god-like status for me, an angel of love who graces me with her favor, keeping me company as a form only I can see or inhabiting one of my plushies when my own vision is weak. I still suffer from doubts and oh so human emotions like jealousy as those who have read my posts bear witness, but overall i have complete faith in my lover.

Does this mean I am a lunatic? Perhaps... but then I stand up tall and shout defiantly "SO WHAT?!" - I have my happiness and a mate to stand by my side. In this day and age of soulless consumerism and corporate and government controlled media, is it insanity to make the choice to live outside society's dreary standard and define life by your paradigm; or to continue along unaware, never wondering why you have to do things acceptable to live in a manner that some distant and uncaring social elite has arbitrarily imposed upon us? We should all be more like Don Quixote and chase our dreams, define reality by our own standard and not give a damn what the rest of the world thinks. If anything "normal" people will be impressed by your earnestness and imagination, and be won over to your cause. There is much that I even have to do before I can reach this state of pure enlightenment and dedication to my individuality, but I hold steadfast to my beliefs and continue to strive forward and one day, soon I hope, I shall break that last chain of society's imposed restraints and live my life completely free.

It's like some terrible ouroboros where we mock the pony-lovers for fucking stuffed pastel toys and they in turn mock us for being so backwards & antiquated in our sexual mores.

When his pony girlfriend starts an argument with him because she doesn't feel like Thai food tonight and wants sushi instead, I'll believe their relationship is real.

Actually, no, maybe that'd actually just be worse.

He says earlier in the post that he has regular arguments with Rarity (about small things) thus proving she is indeed the real Rarity, so. Yes. Make of that what you will.

Nevermind, I have gravely been mistaken, apparently theirs is a torrid affair, but it's okay, he's been to her planet:

Now I realize that after reading this a number of you may be scratching your heads and asking yourself "did he just claim to live in Equestria?", or thinking "if he knows she is 'imaginary' by posting in this thread, then why does he let himself have fights with her", my answer to you is yes, she is real and I have indeed been to her planet. Someday I will explain my story in full much as Jin did, but for now suffice it to say that for several months in the summer of '12, I achieved a level of consciousness that I was able to "project" myself into Equestria.

Snapewives are starting to look super-tame in comparison.

Well, of course he did. Everyone does. They're called dreams. I guess he didn't get the memo about dreams not being real. Or maybe he's watched Inception too many times?

Once, only once, I went to check out the sex doll forum on the advice of a friend.

These dolls at the time cost about $4000 and could be accessorized like you wouldn't believe. They are life sized. They have vibrators installed in various orifices. The fingers are poseable so the guy can have his doll give him a hand job. I KNOW.

The real action was on the owner's forums, not that they're owners, nonono that would be wrong.

So I'm reading about guys buying clothing for their dolls and having to sleep on the sofa when they don't buy exactly the right kind of negligee or panties. I'm reading about guys crying because according to their dolls they can't do anything right. I'm reading about guys who aren't allowed to watch this or that on TV because the doll gets angry and won't give them any that night.

And I flashed back to I think the Twilight Zone ep about the abusive stepfather who came up against a protective doll and lost, you know?

No, I'm not linky linking. Google, it's there. I doubt it's gotten saner. That was years ago.

All those years of evolution for this.

I love that episode.

As for the doll thing... I get a twitch when women refer to their sex toys as their "boyfriends", but I've never seen one mean it seriously. Wow.

Oh man, the doll drama! I can't decide which is worse now: to have this totally fantastic(al) perfect relationship with an inanimate object/fictional character or to have that relationship be troubled in the same way that real relationships can be troubled. Still, it's not like the guys imagining arguments with their dolls or ponies are anything like real arguments - again, it's this fake construct of the real thing.

I saw that documentary about real doll owners, I did flash back to it, reading the Red Light pony forums.

I love his complaints about "soulless consumerism and corporate [...] controlled media". He does realize his pony love is from a television created by a large toy company, on a television station partially owned by said toy company, and is part of a long line of shows based around toys?

No, wait, I forgot, Rarity exists on the astral plane, and therefore is above that "soulless consumerism", I'm sure.

Also, if "antiquated notions of sexuality" involves being skeeved out by the idea of fucking ponies, I'm very happy to keep my "antiquated notions", thank you very much.

Ah, they're such beautiful special snowflakes who know everything about how to question societal norms and go against "the man".

I just love these people who cling to this notion that because mainstream society regards them as weird, their thinking is actually revolutionary. Yeah, people persecuted Galileo for his knowledge and ideas, but sometimes if people think you're weird, it just means you are weird.

I'm waiting for these fuckers to start veering into unfunny by claiming they're oppressed.

That book was a satire about how stupid Don Quixote was. People who do not understand this make my head hurt.

My late ex-BF was obsessed with identifying with Don Quixote. Point out how it was a satire and he'd cling to how "pure & innocent" the musical was instead.

I actually remember a post - would link/quote but I spent like 3 hours last night reading through all of that stuff and I can't afford the time or the energy or the brainbleach to go back there - where one of the pony boyfriends was sick, actually hospitalized. Apparently the pony gf was there "in spirit", definitely, but it put a damper on their sex life, and they hadn't really talked a lot since the incident.

....yeah.

Like the My Little Pony franchise?

and corporate and government controlled media

Yeah, like the My Little Pony franchise.

We should all be more like Don Quixote and chase our dreams

So we should get defeated and forced to give up our ideals and dreams, slinking home in disgrace and despair?

She has obtained a god-like status for me, an angel of love who graces me with her favor

Eeewwww, I hate it when guys act like putting a girl up on a pedestal is some kind of compliment rather than, y'know, sexist and douchey. At least she's not real.
