Wow, yeah, I can see where that has the potential to be very upsetting to your typical mpreg reader. While I'm sure there are many reasons to read and write mpreg, the big one that comes to mind for me is wish fulfillment for your OTP having a baby/babies that share their DNA and can pass on their genetic legacy, especially for those that have special powers or whatever. (The schadenfreude of putting a cis-dude through something that IRL (for the time being) only uterus-owners experience is probably next in line, but I figure that's a bigger motivator for genderfuck stories.) The idea of one or both genetic contributors freaking the fuck out over the results and absolutely rejecting it runs counter to that motivation. Mine is/are a lot more happily-ever-after/ideal results for pregnant partner wanting to get an abortion.
