The Brave and the Bold cartoon is...it's like the Silver Age had a baby with Justice League Unlimited. It wholeheartedly embraces the goofier plots with self-awareness but not outright mockery for what it's doing. There's also a massive tendency towards the use of obscure heroes/villains from older works---you will think they made a character up for the lulz but no, that guy really happened. In the sixties. While it's mostly lighthearted, some episodes can get pretty emotional or toe the line of kid-friendliness.
