The way I see it, the people who point out that it's a fairly classic joke construction etc have a point and it's entirely possible that it's a coincidence. It's entirely possible that SRB is really the one who wrote it, and she really didn't purposely snatch the line from THG. It's entirely possible that people are overreacting.

But you know, that's what you get, SRB, when you hitch your wagon to Cassie "Plagiarism Is Totally Okay When I Do It" Claire's. She may have done everything in her power to make sure that all her publishing business friends don't think about the Plagiarism Debacle, or Laptopgate or Charitywank, but there are not insignificant subsets of fandom that are full of people who still remember them very clearly. And some of those people are going to feel a need to go through anything with CC's name on it with a fine-toothed comb, because they are just waiting for her to get lazy and plagiarise again.

Also every time Maureen Johnson or John Green say something about how much they consider CC such a great friend I'm just like PLEASE STOP SAYING THINGS OR I WILL HAVE TO STOP LOVING YOU AND I DON'T WANT TO UGH.
