Btw, speaking of said angry responses, I see Snacky's Law has already been invoked:
"No wonder YA authors club around Cassandra Clare. It was always a mystery to me before but I guess I never allowed myself to be cynical enough to think “maybe it’s because they’re guilty of freely and routinely lifting ‘homages’ from other sources too, maybe they all lack originality and a moral compass and need to group together like the cliche schoolyard gang and make ridiculous tumblr posts filled with tl;dr drivel and lame excuses straight from Cassandra Clare’s school of ‘WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME’.”
