I know that there's been a few kickstarters that were successfully funded that ended up not delivering on the rewards promised. Something tells me this will happen here too. Is there a mechanism Kickstarter has put in place to help protect the funders or is it still very much YMMV? I feel really badly for the people who put in money because mocking the excesses of fandom aside, sometimes fandom is such an escape for the fans that it really does turn off that critical side of their brains so I can sorta understand why they believed in the whole 'fueled by unicorn and pixie dust' part of the "business plan" for BBP rather than doing any logical analysis.
