The wank takes on new dimensions of brassiness when you put it like that. And like

nevadafighter, I too have an allergy to stories taken hostage.

Relatedly, is anyone else reminded of that one wank from ages ago where some author set up PayPal donations for readers to pay her so she could quit her part-time job and finish her massive Buffy WIP? I think I might be getting some of the details wrong, but surely this has to sound familiar to someone.
