I think JKR should make this a new tradition. Every couple of years when it seems like HP fandom is quieting down she can release a random new statement about a character and/or ship just to watch the fandom explode. Next year: "In retrospect, I've decided James Potter actually was the most evil bully in the world and Lily really wished she'd chosen Snape, who was meant to be a tall dark handsome hunk of woobie. Also Snape sometimes speaks to me in my dreams and tells me about his astral marriages."
