Perhaps she wouldn't be able to give him 'normal', but I always felt a little like Harry would never achieve 'normal' at the end of all he'd been through. Harry craved normal but, realistically - after everything he'd gone through - "normal" (as he imagined what normal was) would have never been something he could have completely had. Not the least of which being, yeah, he would have realistically needed extensive therapy after the war ended. And even with that, I don't think all the scars of that time would have gone away or been completely forgotten. Maybe they wouldn't have been a picture-perfect image of "normal" together (like I think the image of him and Ginny present), but heck, Luna was able to have a husband - Rolf- and two kids with him and they are all happy from the little we know; so I'm pretty sure she and Harry could have done the same. And I think, deep down, a family is something Harry wanted - and would have been happy with - even more than some imagined ideal of "normal." Post a comment in response: |
