In the original article all JKR says is that she regrets putting Hermione and Ron together, *not* that Harry and Hermione should have gotten together, as literally every subsequent news article I've seen has extrapolated. I'd like to see the text of the full article to get some more context.

Personally, the part that was way more wish fulfilmenty and regrettable was the Digimon 02 style ending at the end of DH, but, y'know.

She gave them enough fuel to the fire to one side, hence the ridiculous jumping to conclusions. I mean, that's the weird thing, looking back on the HP shipwars - they were WARS. You have sides, and if you're not with Harmoanians, you're against them, and if you're not with R/Hr, you're against them etc. Pick a side to do battle, and get out of here with all that logical thinking.

	It occurs to me that one of these days, someone is bound to write a series accompanied by a tie-in reality show--wherein fannish champions of Team X/Y, Team Y/Z, and Team Z/X can battle in extreme gladiatorial earnest to determine the romantic outcomes of the story. 	Yeah, most of the "SHE MEANT TO WRITE H/HR THE WHOLE TIME" I'm seeing is coming from Harmonians on Tumblr. I think the most choice post I've seen about it is one comparing it to the Quidditch World Cup where "Ireland won the match, but the Bulgarians caught the snitch." (Reply to this)(Parent)
