I have a buddy who went there as press/with the press yesterday. He did a writeup on Facebook, though he doesn't want it public until he writes it as an official article (which I will then try to put up here).

His opinion seems to be that while it was horribly managed most people there seemed pretty okay and mature, and he did not see the freak show he expected. And that is after sitting through both the panel on Omegaverse and the Homestuck panel (which had all the panelists in grey paint and an IC Q&A), so props to him.
