Hannibal is very very tumblr-tastic; the sort of grimdark absurdity of the show translates well to the batshittery of the platform, and the show's social media team has embraced tumblr. I love tumblr, and the strangeness of Hannibal fandom, but you are right that there can be something offputting at times.
