But they are important. It affects everyone around them. They will pass on their viewpoints to their family and friends and the ignorance will spread.

It is too much like harrassment and may lead to official complaints. I think that taking the moral high ground in a reasoned statement is the way ahead for me.

The idea being that kittypantz's fantasy stuff (a faked photo manip and a fictional story) will somehow blow the teenie's fantasy stuff out of the water. *snerk*

The last one is so oblivious to irony though. mithlondewen opines: stupid narrowminded idiots. if they don't want to see the boys as gay, then they don't have to! there's no reason to get all worked up about it!! there's just as much evidence that they're gay as there is that they're not! my theory is believe what you want to and don't bother other people about it until you learn the pure truth (and that would involve actually meeting and asking them)

Mind you, I do have a question that came up for me when I read this: Is it so very wrong to feel disappointment when you find out that a favourite actor you've ~~lusted~~ ~~obsessed~~ ~~fantasized about~~ ~~stalked~~ admired is gay? I don't think it automatically indicates you're a homophone because of that.

Just a thought.

I wouldn't say that a disppointed person was definitely a homophobe, but I would gently suggest they don't have a very firm grip on reality if they think that a celebrity's sexuality affects them personally in any way whatsoever. Expressing disappointment over some actor/musician/whatever being gay makes it sound like the person thought she actually had a chance of sleeping with him, and the vast majority of people really, really don't. That's what writing Mary Sues is for. ;-)
