	I found it hard to believe that people like that exist. So what if it's a childrens book series? Adults read it, too, and the games & hard rated fics are written by adults for other adults. Makes one wonder if she's religious. If she was Finnish I'd guess she was Laesthadian [old fashioned branch of Christianity], since they are usually against things like that... If she's religious, then my bets are on her (assuming the mun in question is female) being a hard-core fundamentalist (I find it hard to believe all Christians are against such things as homosexuality); in which case, I also begin to wonder: isn't Harry Potter in itself against the Godly Way for many fundamentalists because he practices witchcraft and is therefore a "devil worshiper"?

Makes you wonder why she was there to begin with.

	Well, it depends. On one of my boards Harry Potter comes up pretty often in the Christian OT thread, and suprisingly enough, most of the thread's biggest fundamentalists are pro-HP. You never know. :: shrug :: (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	If Harry Potter characters are not allowed to have sex, then how did Harry Potter get to exist? How did any of the non-adult characters get to exist? If you go back far enough, how did anyone get to exist? Or do you suppose the poster meant as in "in the books"? (Reply to this)(Thread)

Heh. I find this person's thread in particular pretty wanky, though I might just think that because I commented. Mmm, bias. But it's got everything! Blanket statements, colouring an entire group of writers with the same brush, not backing up her comments, and putting words and accusations into other people's mouths in the attempt to come across as martyred by slash authors.

...'Martyred by Slash Authors' would be a great name for a band.

What kills me is the whole 'they were made for CHILDREN' argument.

I mean so what? Yeah a lot kids like HP, so do a lot of adults, should the older HP fans be forced to censor themselves just because kids also enjoy the series?

I mean I thought that was the POINT of having things like warings, and verification.

That and I dislike the idea that because a series is aimed at a younger audience I'm not supposed to particpate in the fandom, and I'm certainly not supposed to want to explore the potentially darker aspects of the characters.

This all boils down to another 'Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children' whine.
