I come bearing wank...
It's Enterprise wank!

(With thanks and cookies to hotpinkdragones for giving me fuller info on this one.)

Once upon a time, there was a TV show. And it was watched by 'shippers. And lo, the Powers That Be saw these 'shippers, and saw that it was Bad. And they did say that in Season 3, there would be Trip/T'Pol...

Now, there are 'ship wars in all fanda. Tis their way. But this one becomes wankier than usual when one side (the Archer/T'Pol gang) obtain the phone number of the TV company (Paramount). The number is distributed, and angry calls are made to writers.

But wait! It gets wankier...

The Trip/T'Pol gang hear of this. How? Because they have spies. Yes, spies. Spies to spy on the rival 'shippers, to join their mailing lists and generally... spy on them. So the number is given out among them, and yet more phone calls are made...


(Bah. Everyone knows that Archer/Porthos is the One True Pairing...)

I suspected there was wankage out there on Enterprise but I had no idea it was this extensive.

To have the cahones to actually CALL Paramount and bitch about shipping? Wow, I'm so not impressed.

I rather hope Enterprise writers kill all potential A/T and T/T ships after that fiasco. Would serve them right for being such asshats.

And yes, Archer/Porthos is THE OTP on Enterprise. I mean, Archer will shirk his duties to dote on that animal and you can see in Porthos' eyes the adoration and love that he has for Archer. Yes, it is THE only pairing worth watching on that show.

Not to mention that if Paramount and Rick Berman actually gave a crap about what Star Trek fans thought, Enterprise might not have actually existed in the first place.

Indeed. They might as well have shaped the "Enterprise" (funny how that thing never showed up in any of the displays of "Former Ships Named Enterprise" on the other series, huh?) like a giant hand giving the finger, because the entire series is like a big "fuck you" to TNG fans... or, really, Trek fans in general.
But, having watched most of the first season in vain hopes it might, ya know, stop sucking, I hate Trip the most. So I'd probably be annoyed about them hooking him and T'Pol up, too. But all I might do is, like, send an email to the studio saying words to the effect of "That sucks!" ... Y'know, like a NORMAL fan does?

I did like the first five minutes of the premiere episode, which showed a redneck blowing away a Klingon officer with a shotgun. But from that point onward, the whole thing just plummetted.

*shudders* You know, I was a ST:V fan and DS9 fan but you know, Voyager sucked after the 5th season, so I was hoping that paramount would bloody give up. I mean, the whole thing has really gone on long enough. Then I heard about Enterprise.....SUCK SUCK SUCK. The theme song sucks, the d00d who player Archer sucks and really, the female characters are weak. The whole thing was a bad idea. And the one episode I sat through made me weep for the Trekkers out there still. I don't understand liking Enterpise, because its just.that.bad. And this coming from someone who put up with the Kaazon and Neelix.

Word, a thousand times word. I fell off the bandwagon around the same time in Voyager that you did. And i tried to watch Enterprise but was pretty much turned off by the first episode. Gratuitous T'Pal was a big factor in that, besides the fact that i really didn't find myself liking any of the characters. But i did make a point to watch the couple episodes Jeffrey Combs guested in, because..well, Jeffrey Combs!

Wow, people actually still watch that show?

Bleh, why do people get so bent out of shape about their favorite 'ship. Come on, you can still write it. And it makes me chuckle that people are so surprised T'Pal and Tripp are getting together. I knew from that first steamy decontamination gel spreading scene in the very first episode they were destined to get it on. The show is just so predictable.

Oh i knew it too! I think i sat through to that scene, got up went into my room and screamed. Most predictable scene eva!!!!!!!! The thing about Voyager was that my OTP was destined...so i wasn't worried. But i was pissed about the Kate Mulgrew noloveforJanewaysoChakotaygetstheBorgSLUT. GUUUUUH. Trekkers are darn weird people sometimes.
