LotRPW - Real Person Wank.
So desperate are the members of the LotR fandom to convince us they're not Evil Stalkers of d00m, that they've taken to fangirling actors girlfriends...
This is lead by esorlehcar as she posts "Have spent too much time today fangirling Billy's girlfriend." and follows up with picture evidence of how "little! And pixieish! And entirely adorable!" Billy's apparent girlfriend is.
She concludes "And she and Billy are so darling together."
Suprisingly her friends appear to agree, and there's a complete void of the general bitching which would be expected at the discovery that their chosen man is now off the market. Instead everyone seems convinced that they would like to be Just Like Billy's Girlfriend - from her hair to her clothes.
Did I miss the memo saying Billy Boyd was dating Mary Sue?
Overwhelmed by the support for her last post, we find another pro-billys-girlfriend-whoever-she-is post, where the author admits she "*fangirls yet more, just because I can*"
Who says she can exactly? Surely there are some limits to this? Does the anti-RPS argument fall through on het?
Meanwhile lafisher has decided to use a Billy/Billy's Girlfriend icon, under the keyword 'faith and trust', taking the girlfriend-fangirlism to new heights. Hope it doesn't get vertigo.
Although no one's arguing over it (yet) the fact that they're all agreeing how beautiful and idolistic she is is wanky enough Strangely it appears that this portion of the fandom is more attracted to Billy Boyd's Girlfriend than the man himself.
However, if they're after this mysterious stranger, the fangirls may be in luck, as esorlehcar admits at the bottom of her last post "I don't know for a fact she is Billy's girlfriend. I suspect she is, for reasons outlined here and multiple other fan reports, but I don't have any kind of iron-clad proof, far from it."
Personally I miss the good old days of "xyz is dating GorgeousFamousMan! She's such a bitch! I loved him first!!" Followed up by comments of "Oh well, she's really ugly" or "that top shows of her stretch marks! You're so much prettier anyway!"
