Current mood:

It's a whiny meta buffet. No sharing, please.
In one long-ass thread, we have:

- A "Goodbye forever because this board isn't fun like it used to be in The Old Days" message, delivered by proxy, no less
- Tribute graphics in ASCII (okay, that's kind of cute in a very dorky way)
- The "This board is going to hell" / "Then do something about it" / "Who are you to tell me what to do" train wreck that starts on page 6 and goes on for nearly ten pages, bogging down between two extremely long-winded posters (one of which is myself, making this also...)
- Self-wank (/me is NAH, wave to my wanky self! *waves* BTW, I fully admit that I go off the handle at times and can be pompous and easily baited. I'll take no offense at any bashing of my person. Promise. In retrospect it's all ridiculous.)
- People translating each other from Screeching Flamer into English, which means that many of the points are presented at least twice, if not three times
- Comparing the flamewar to "slapping each other in front of a fallen comrade" (probably my favorite part, pg. 11)
- Long blocks of bolded text, because bolded text makes you look very emphatic and serious
- Drive-by armchair psychologizing
- Attempting to win an argument by quoting a dictionary
- A random observer, who had earlier said he liked watching the flamewar, summarizing the entire thing all over again once it starts to simmer down

And oh yeah, a couple of mentions of things that are actually on-topic.

And to top it off, a lot of this was resolved over AIM to find out that fundamentally, some of the participants weren't actually in disagreement, but just thought we were. A beautiful end, I think. *sniff*

It is cute; it's just the mental image of courageously and doggedly putting together an ASCII tribute image while sniffing back the tears over the "fallen comrade," probably with a lone trumpet playing in the distance, that makes me snicker.
