	Uhm... Gosh, no I don't. That was almost 20 years ago, and those brain cells devoted to remembering all that died in the '90's. For the most part my GI memory is broken up into flashbacks and "knowing is half the battle" refs. I think it cuts down on the trauma to be honest. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Really, the whole reason SF wasn't allowed to post before was that she and her friends from that one board were trolling by posting huge blocks of "Thus Spake Zarathustra." It was a bandwidth issue.

I really, really have a hard time agreeing with the notion of regulating who can and can't post here, as long as they're not pulling that shit. I don't really care if someone tries to pick fights with people - it's a hazard of having an open community, and to me, an acceptable one. All you have to do is skip those posts, or if you do read them, don't respond. If other people DO respond, it's their lookout if they get into a flame war.

One of the things I've always loved about FW is the open-door policy. I can't agree with shutting and locking the door over one person. I'm sorry.

I'll take the blame for that... I suggested it to Hnk as a temporary measure until Zorro can ban SF by IP number, since she made clear that she had plenty of codes and planned to keep using them. Certainly keeping FW locked down permanently would be a terrible idea.

The way I see it: SF is a troll, pure and simple. She has a long history of trolling this community, and she was banned from here before for doing just that. While her original post this morning may have been in earnest, it doesn't wipe away everything she's done in the past - I agree with Hnk that once you prove yourself a troll, especially such as a persistent one as she is, you lose your right to post, even if every once in awhile you manage to say something that doesn't count as trolling.

Just IMO, of course.

Personally, Stormfreak could troll here every day of the week, for all I care, as long as it wasn't that bandwidth-eating shit. If people didn't let themselves get sucked into flamewars, I daresay she'd get bored with it. And if she wants to play nice (well, as nice as FW gets, anyway), well, that's okay too. The few times she and I have interacted, I've had no problem...and as far as her past trolling goes, I'll be the first to admit I don't hold grudges very well.

That said, I know that she'll probably end up being banned anyway, and if the majority of active FW members feel that it's necessary, I'll shut up. I've made my opinion known, and I'm not going to beat the horse once it's joined the Choir Angelic.

I'm hoping the lockdown is not a permanent thing. I've gotten a few requests to add people to the comm and I'm more than happy to take care of that but I was hoping that when SF lost interest again we'd go back to how it was.

Also, to a degree I think it should be left up to zorrorojo, because after all, the stormfreak-related brouhaha was hurting the servers last time. I may not be recalling it correctly but I thought it was decided that she wasn't welcome back at all.

Personally, I found the whole kerfuffle this time around both funny and irritating as heck. I agree that people who let themselves get drawn into flamewars with trolls should know better and not expect backup. However, the thing I noticed with SF is that when you do something she doesn't like, no matter how polite you are being, she tends to explode. (HnK's polite statement to her on the initial banning is a prime example.) She doesn't do this every single time--maybe around 85%--but it's often enough to be predictable. And when she explodes, she pulls out all the racist/elitist/sexist crap she can think of to exacerbate the situation. (I.e. her second fw post and succeeding replies)

Her initial post may have been polite, but I'm betting (if it didn't already happen at the time) that someone who didn't know her past history would have commented on the post not being wanky, and the sh*t would have starting flying at that point.
