I figured it had to be a mistake. Wanking a 14 year old isn't very challenging. They're by definition stupid and unable to make good decisions.

We'd let them sign contracts and have jobs and get apartments if they were able to fend for themselves.

If they were allowed to make their own decisions, we'd allow them here... but since they can't consent to anything, they can't consent to visiting our lovely site.

I hate to do it. I think so many people loose sight of all objectivity when the battle cry of "Oh, but the children!" is sounded. Behavior that would never be considered stalking when it comes to an adult would get some reactionaries going when it comes to "the children." One of those reactionaries happens to be running our government (but only for another year and a half!)

So, they are not allowed here to defend themselves. So, shouldn't be wanked.

And this was such a good one too, dammit!

I just think this has been going to an extreme. Some of her opinions may invoke a WTF!? moment, but she's able to articulate her reasoning to a good degree (when requested), and I can see how her opinions come from her reasoning. She just needs to grow up, and she will someday. Her opinions will probably change when she does.

Just the stereotypical understanding barrier between teen and adult . . .

Ah, sorry. What I meant is that it's at least ironic, if not wanky, that a snark community (f_w) launched an attack over a snark community (that ratings journal). How this mess went down also smacks of dirty hands wanking--that the wank was intentionally originated in order to be wanked about.

There's bad behavior coming from all involved here . . . but if you intentionally take snark (even if you think that it's pathetic snark) at face value in order to make it wankier, and launch ad hominem attacks on the originator of that snark, how can you not expect ad hominem attacks and snark in return? I'm not going to expect more restraint or maturity out of a teenager than is being show by the adults involved.

Y'know, I hate to say this, but I kind of agree. Reading more of her responses in this thread, there's a definite tone of "ha ha, I got a rise out of you" going on, and there's the "I'll give out my full name and mother's phone number and talk at length about my panty collection, then act like it's weird that people find that a little foolish" thing, but she's really reasonably mature for someone her age. Not very mature - I know 14-year-olds who run circles around this girl in the maturity department - but certainly better than her fellow reviewers. Every other word out of her keyboard isn't profanity. She hadn't told us to go to hell (has she?). She's already miles ahead of, say, stellardreams. Sadly, since stellardreams is supposedly several years older.

In defense of myself, how mature can I be expected to act when I'm surrounded by adults acting immaturely? What kind of guideline for maturity levels am I shown when linked to a community post that's all about me and adults mocking me, a child? Am I really expected to act to my full maturity when I'm bombarded by people twice my age who act worse than my little sister? I don't think it's weird that you find my ways foolish, but I do think it's weird that so much effort has been put into teasing me, and yes I do get a kick out of it. I'd expect it from fourteen year olds, but not from a band of adults.

No, I haven't told you to go to hell, and yes, StellarDreams is four years older than me.
