Well, a wank from HP fandom, except I keep screwing it up.
I would ask one of the mods to delete the earlier post I made re: Harry Potter and the Fiction Alley wank. I totally screwed up that one and would like to repost it since I cannot find a way to edit the last post. I not only posted it in a hurry but screwed up the link to it too. :P

I'm such a n00b. Here's what the post was supposed to be:

Okay, so over at Fiction Alley Park someone gets disgruntled that their fic has been returned to them for corrections and they cannot find said areas that need correction.

Rather than asking the CODER (not the moderator, moderators do not code and vice versa - well, maybe some do, but let's say for the sake of argument that this is so) about what needed to be fixed, the disgruntled writer posts this beauty state new moderators were needed and then uses Cassie Claire's Draco Trilogy as an example of a fic that may have gotten preferential treatment.

Coders and other members play knight in shining armour.

Let the wankage begin!

EDIT: Previous screwed up post was deleted.

Some brought out the "Maybe it's personal problems they're really upset about!" argument.

Oh yeah, so instead of being mature about it and dealing with said personal problems, they go and take it out on a group of people who don't know her from Adam. Heh.

But I was waiting for that to come up.

I think they covered every possible excuse in that thread.

At the top of your entry you should see this:

Just click on the blue pencil, remove all the text from the entry field and hit Save Journal Entry - that'll get rid of your post.

I looked for that but did not find the blue pencil. :( But thanks anyway.

On a whim I tried it again and this time the pencil DID show up! So, it is now deleted! Thanks again!

I believed I was logged out when I tried it the timeI couldn't find it and didn't realise it. All is well in the world again. :D

Hey, Whiny Fictionalley Brat, you said you left the Fictionalley boards? You did? OK.

So you were still on the boards posting about leaving and outlining your little reasons for doing so, why?

"See, I'm leaving...now...yup, I'm leaving...

"And I'm gonna tellyou why but I'm really leaving...see...

"And I'll tell you why AGAIN...but I'mm really leaving...

"Oh, but I'm not really, because I can still post comments, I'm just not posting fics here because you guys suck...bye now..."

Queen n00b if you ask me.

Well, she also wrote that she and her two betas couldn't see any errors. Later on it was pointed out that she had misspelled Slytherin and Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade I can still understand, it isn't mentioned that often, but Slytherin?!

Brings to mind the horrible HP fic where Sirius raped Harry under Imperius [I think it was apelled Imperavis, not sure. Might have been another story] and Harry got pregnant. Then he cast a very misspelled Avada Kedavra at himself in a room full of people. Anyways, there was Narsicca, Luicus and Herimone, as well as lots of other misspelled names and horrible plot holes. The author actually claimed to have a beta... I noticed it's been reposted to harrypottermpreg or similar yahoo!group, this time it's been cleaned up a bit, at least the killing curse was correct, but Herimore was still there... *shakes head*

Yeah, I saw your post and thought it made some good points and offered her a way to redeem herself.

I would have welcomed some thwappage after her second post insulting people though. Woulda served her right.

Okay, I was the person who rejected their fic. It had spelling errors that FA considers to be "Unforgivable", meaning that if they are present more than once the fic has to be sent back. The author repeatedly denied said errors being present in the fic (DESPITE being sent the text of the fic in the reply message), and was generally snippy about it.

My fellow coder <a href="http://www.livejournal.com/~zorb>Zorb</a> emailed her repeatedly trying to explain very reasonably why the fic was rejected, but the author stubbornly refused to admit that the errors were there.

Just thought I'd clarify.

She actually prefers The Pit of Voles to a place that screens stories for typos to prevent you from looking like a total idiot? Not that it helped this girl, but she only has herself to blame there.

Some people...

What a thankless job that must be, screening all those fics again and again. They should just outright reject them.

I'm also surprised by the girl who claimed her beta-readers couldn't catch "staetd" and "Jaemes" after many painstaking line edits. I'd hate to tell her, but any standard spellcheck would have caught both of those.

Color me confused.

My thoughts:

You are doing exactly what you got pissed at Keruri for. I followed that whole argument. The people at FA believe that Keruri blew the whole thing out of perspective. Well isn't that what you're doing? You're taking something that could be forgotten and blowing it out of perspective. Rather than just ignore what Keruri wrote and what she thinks, you go and rant about it on journalfen.net. You're making too big of a deal about all this. JUST LET IT GO! It's but one person's opinion.

By the way, I've spoken to Keruri. You know what HER thoughts on this journalfen.net entry are? I quote us on this:

Keruri says: "Oh my God, really? I'm famous in the fandom world! WOO!! Go me! Who would've thought posting my opinions would cause such a stir-up! Next thing I know I'll have an angry mob at my door!"
Me: "You realize that you're a hated woman."
Keruri: "You say that like I should care. I don't know these bitches -- why should their opinions of me matter to me?"

Again, these are only my thoughts.

I am that person who knows Keruri... back again. To whoever it was that posted right after me, I have done absolutely nothing to you -- it's completely unfair for you to hate on me. Keruri was the one who began all this, I am merely reporting. I suppose it ISN'T really my place, but I felt that you guys should know that Keruri isn't even reading your posts and reviews, so it's honestly a waste of time. She's getting on with her life. I also thought that you should know what she thinks about it. If I'm a bitch for doing so, well I'm sorry, but I have done NOTHING wrong.
