I love when "It's not a clique! It's a group of friends! ~~Who all like each other, and don't like you! Because you suck!~~" is used as an actual defense in accusations of elitism. Sometimes it's really true-- the Everwood fandom is pretty tightknit but will happily let anyone in to play, badficcers and wankers and all-- but sometimes, it's a smokescreen.

And dude - in our defence I must say that it never occured to us that anyone else even *cared* about an AU where Clark is in a band, Lex spends a lot of time sitting on a barstool, wearing tartan trausers and a sweater from Goodwill, and half the stories are about *gasp* Original Characters! It takes a special kind of self-absorbed insanity to think that's interesting, I feel. Luckily we all have that in spades.

And for the record - my wank journal isn't private. It just has nothing written in it because I would rather put it in my regular journal. If you're going to say it, say it where everyone can see, yanno?

Hey, I got an idea! I'm going to develop a teleision show that will gather a huge fandom and it will be completely bitter-metafan-free! Because guess what? It's a TV SHOW. There's no reason for anyone to get their Superman panties in a wad over a friggin' TV show.

That said, I must not really be a fan of Smallville because I don't get kerfuffled over all this petty bullshit.
