Sad part is I'm a diehard B/A gal myself, and I almost feel a bit ashamed about it.

I think there needs to be some sort of Internet confession booth.

Well, maybe there should be some sort of test to distinguish sane shippers from the ones who take it too far. You know, something like:

1) Do you believe it is impossible for either member of your pairing to be happy EVER AGAIN?

2) Do you have irrational hatred toward the creator/writers of the show for taking away your OTP?

3) Do you have irrational hatred for any character who might be seen as a "replacement" for either half of your OTP? (Riley doesn't count, as most fans hated him because he was boring and the Initiative storyline was stupid, not because he replaced Angel. Nor does Kennedy, as in actuality she written very annoyingly.)

4) Do you have irrational hatred for actors portraying the characters you believe are replacing either half of your OTP?

5) Do you lack a sense of humour?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, you may have a problem. Our advice is to get the hell over it, it's only a TV show after all.


And this could easily apply to any of the crazy diehard shippers out there. The Ducks, the Kittens, and yes, even the Spuffies.

Honestly, the most amusing thing about this all is the assumption that we're all (or, even a majority of us) are Spuffy (ICK to that name, by the way...) shippers.

I can count the number of Buffy episodes I've watched on one hand, and as for shipping, well, if it's not Giles/Ethan, I'm really not that interested...

The only genuinely cool character on Buffy is Principal Blackman, and I speak as someone who's seen fewer than 10 episodes, all under duress.

Wait, that was Strangers with Candy. And I love SwC. Don't give half a crap about Buffy. Hm. I guess that makes us Spuffy by default?

When you attack a character, a certain fandom, or a certain show, then it's justified. Nobody's feelings will actually get hurt. But to single someone out? Just cruel and petty. And stupid. Very stupid.

I just realized I have nothing but Buffy icons, pretty much any of which seem apropos at the moment.

I really have nothing to say to this except that I fail to be surprised at anything in my fandom . . . and there will be no dissing of my Kennedy while I am in earshot. ^_^ I have a soft spot in my heart for spoiled brats when they're sexy and kick ass, what can I say?

I liked the person who helpfully mentioned the spelling errors in the original F_W post, whilst misspelling "existence."

And yeah, the notion that we are a: One person or B: All Buffy, All the Time! is amusing. I've seen maybe three eps of Buffy. Read a lot of Spike/Xander slash, though.

As the person who originally posted this wank and is the one being attacked (specifically for my spelling skills or lack thereof), let me just say:

This from people who spend their money on campaigns to reunite two fictional characters. Comments from the boards are in italics.

This person has no imagination if s/he thinks that a post on F_W is the most painful and immature way to push someone's buttons. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I just don't get how anyone can say that Buffy/Spike wasn't fucked up because BOTH BUFFY AND SPIKE WERE FUCKED UP.

Angel is fucked up too, they're all fucked up, I forsee no happy endings and lots of angst for the rest of the Buffyverse. :D

I'd like to state a few things for the record.

I liked BtVS.

I liked the BxA ship.

I think BxS was a bad, bad idea that was done in a bad, bad way.

I think this group does have a few good points. [Like how some Spuffy fans seem to act like Spike was some pure holy being till evil Buffy corrupted him with her Vagina of DOOM. And how she is a bit objectivfied in the relationship.]

But I STILL think these folks need a bithslappin' and a large dose of valium.

Please. The Ducks gives the entire B/A ship a bad name. It's not a crime to like the Spuffy ship, Ducks. Relax.

And, the fact that they can't see how lame it was for their #1 Duckie to use the word 'Spuggy' because she was just toooo disgusted to even TYPE the word 'Spuffy' is so incredibly pathetic that I can't even continue with this post.
