Anyway, my fandom, JAG, isn't usually all that wanky. However, with the onset of the new season, the fandom has exploded with wank.

I guess you are right. After all Harm was completely faithful to Mac during those 8 years. It wasn't like he was with Renee, Jordan, Annie or I forget all the others.

No I didn't say that he was faithful after all even though the mutual attraction was somewhat there between them they really weren't in a "relationship": I am curious to who the others are though besides the name you mentioned and Kathy (sic) Pike and of course Diane Both before Mac and maybe Bobby (sic). who were all the others significant ones you are hinting at.

Okay, I have racked my brain, and buzzed through the JAG episode guide and have come up with the following.

Let's see, Harm has slept with, that we know of: Annoying Cloying Annie, Renee, Jordan, Bobbie Latham that we can pretty much be sure he slept with. Then, in the first season there was Kate Pike, Maria Elena yadda yadda and the Vietnamese woman who tried to kill him. And Diane. One assumes.

Then there was inappropriate kissing with Romanian princess, the lieutenant who drove really fast when Harm busted his former mentor, the Colonel's wife in the episode in Panama, and Catherine Gale (that kiss between them was hotter than any between CB and DJE, I thought, and also inappropriate since he was supposedly "you know what" with Mac).

And heavy duty, I-want-to-date-you flirting: Nanci Chambers also in Washington Holiday (okay, they didn't kiss but there was a lot of flirting), he was flirting
with the doctor in the hospital when Khabir Atef tried to take over as some other terrorist, the woman he was defending who killed the Turkish spy and who turned
out to be a spy herself (and, BTW, he asked her out during the time he was also dating Annie), Francesca!, the architect Bobbi tried to set AJ up with when he
met Meredith but who gave Harm her number.

Mac has kissed: Dalton, Mic, Harm of course, her husband, and Webb. Flirting? Mark Sokol, for reasons still unknown to me. AJ, sort of.

**** Um, this was in "Blind Side" - remember they were caught by Mac in the middle of the kiss. Nothing happened there, other than a kiss. Which Harm turned around and complimented the Lieutenant for basically "taking the shot". Hell, if given the oppertunity (only in my dreams) I would and then some, but that's just me.

**** And out of these, Dalton, Mic, her husband oh and don't forget her CO - the Colonel she admited to having a realtionship with (she admitted to). You mentioned inapropriate behavior regarding Harm... well, Mac is dead on with inappropriate bahvior than Harm was. Harm never slept with someone in his chain of command - referring to Krennik, Meg or Kate (when at JAG).

Bottom line... neither one of them are a saint.

(I dunno... you certainly make Harm look like one.)

We don't know if Bobbie Latham slept with Harm, only that they dated. The Lt who was a driver was in first season as were Kate, Maria Elena, Diane, Vietnamese Woman and the reporter played by Nanci Chambers. The doctor in the ER and Jordan were before anything developed between Harm & Mac. After all Harm was single and allowed to flirt and Mac was dating Lowne in there somewhere.

The Romanian princess kissed him and he put a stop to it and told her NO. The Col's wife also kissed Harm. He was still single and allowed to flirt if he wanted to.

Annie he had known for years and Harm & Mac still weren't any kind of an item.

Renee he started dating AFTER Mac was involved with Mic.

Let's not forget that Mac also had an affair with her CO who was also implicated in the murder of her husband.

Harm has never tried to destroy Mac's career, but she has tried to destroy his twice.

Instead of asking what Harm is willing to give up for Mac - why not ask what Mac is willing to give up for Harm.

I was really upset with the poll that wanted you to vote on if Mac should find a new interest because she was too good for Harm - I would have voted, if they had shown it - to have Harm find a new interest because he was too good for Mac.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm tired of all the negative stuff written about Harm's character....Marti

comments. The LT who was the driver wasn't in the first season. Mac is the one that found them kissing not Meg. You also state that several other women were before any thing developed between Mac and Harm so it's okay. I think that is a great point. Personally, I don't ever see ANYTHING ever having developed between Mac and Harm other than friendship. Period. Also mentioning Mac's affair with Col. Farrow. That was long before Mac ever met Harm. So if it was okay for Harm to be with other women before anything developed between them, why was it wrong for Mac to be with someone years before she met him. (I know you will say that they were in the same chain of command but I believe that Mac had actually been transferred out of his chain of command when they had the weekend fling.)

I guess Mac is being held responsible for previous lovers because of her 'visions.' I guess she was supposed to know that Harm was the one even though she wouldn't meet him for years.


However, my absolute favorite part: one of the most popular JAG fanfic sites is closing. The webmistress of Dress Whites and Roses is leaving the fandom in a huff. (This is actually what sent my wank alert off like crazy.)


So, I am no longer a fan of JAG. What does that mean? In short, this website is coming down - probably in about two weeks baring other complications, so that people can take a look around one last time. Please, do not send me message begging me to keep it up or to give JAG another chance (not that I mind people keeping in touch - I have made some good friends through JAG - just don't ask me to change my mind on this one). I've given the show more chances than it deserves. I now wish that I had stuck to my guns and never come back after 'The Killer'. I believe in the philosophy 'Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me'. I've been able to quit a show I loved before. Before JAG, my biggest TV passion to date had been Dallas. But then the show started declining with the dream season and then Victoria Principal's departure and the same person who had bawled like a baby when Bobby had died (I was only 13 then, so cut me some slack) couldn't stand to watch the show anymore. I survived giving up Dallas and I can survive without JAG as well. Right now, since I've given up West Wing with the departures of my two favorite characters (Ainsley and Sam), I don't have any TV shows that I watch regularly except Angel - now that is some intelligent drama with well-drawn characters. And I know from Buffy that Joss Whedon has a history of putting out quality shows.

You see, in the end it is only a TV show. There are more important things in life, as I found out this summer when I had a cancer scare (fortunately, I don't have it, but the doctor is still trying to determine what is wrong, so my health is not at 100%). I need less stress in my life (the only thing more stressful than spending the entire summer scared that I might have had a life-threatening illness would have been finding out that I did have cancer) and continuing to watch a TV show that I cannot even stand anymore is not the way to do it. As much as I love DJE and CB and PL as actors, the show is doing them a disservice (I'm really sorry that DJE signed a new contract and that CB has a year left to go on her contract) by giving them crap to act out on the screen. I can't stick around and watch that.

(So, it's only a TV show, but it's too stressful to watch? Ooookay.)


Tell me what you think. Is this wanky enough, or do I need to work on it?
