The Queen Herself also cares quite a lot. Since I mod an icon community, I've had her banned for quite some time as our members get testy when someone yoinks their stuff without permission (God only knows why - it IS the internet, people). I actually used this wank to ban two of her other screen names from the community. She responded pissily in my personal journal:

Well, that's really two issues

Issue #1 is, yes, not crediting icons is bitchy/not socially acceptable/whatever, but is hardly the end of the world.

Issue #2 is, when a community has clearly posted rules, you can expect to be banned if you don't follow them.

She's ok on Issue #1 (you can't make someone have good manners) but hasn't a leg to stand on on Issue #2.

I mean, if I was in a community which posted rules saying all posts must be in lemon yellow text on a lime green background with every third letter blinking, and I posted in some sort of legible fashion, I could expect to recieve censure for the offense. What I'd be doing in such a community, I have no idea...

	That's frigthening. It seems to me that people would understand that anything they create and put out on the internet is at risk to be stolen. While I'm rather fond of my icons and I might be a bit miffed if someone stole one, like you said it's not the end of the world. But I'm glad it helped you keep a potential wanker off your community.
