Here was my first one:

Hi there,

I'm writing because I came upon your Fan Fiction awards via the LJ
bus_riders Everwood fic community. Being really active in the Everwood
fandom I was interested in seeing how our fandom's first fic awards would go
down. But I have a few questions:

1. Are any of the nominees also on the panel of judges? I noticed someone
asked this in the guestbook and no one has answered.

2. Why are there only 5 nominations allowed per category? There are so many
great stories out there that can't be nominated-- many better than the
current nominees IMHO -- that this really seems like an inexplicable
limitation.

Thanks for answering all my questions so thoroughly!!! Don't worry, you're
doing GREAT for a first-timer running an awards process! :D One word of
advice: in order to head off any possible drama, I personally think it'd be
best to reveal the panelists before the voting process, so people know what
they're getting into. But I think it would work fine otherwise! Good luck!!

	Disagreeing with something, and posting about it privately, in your own journal, is NOT WANK. For one thing, it would have to actually have some interaction from the other party, or at least someone doing some counter-griping, and then the original griping party griping back. So apparently Mizz Carter caught wind of all this and sent me 3 pages of a single paragraph and like 4 sentences total saying that the stories that one were "not THAT horrible" (how does this translate into "the best in the fandom", I ask?) and of course that it's "like so nice that you and your friends have such high self esteems of themselves" [sic]. So I sent back a not saying "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?" And her response was:

If you are so against fanfiction awards in general I am wondering why you wasted you time nominating stories. In my personal opinion you should GET A LIFE and STOP BEING SUCH A BITCH! Your stories were not that good anyway.

I've considered--briefly--running my own fanfic awards, but I've a feeling writers like these would HATE them, because the rules would be . . . somewhat different. (i.e. the fics that "won" here would be returned unread and disqualified from mine . . . )

Where this bint gets off having an ~~award thingy~~ popularity contest hiding under the guise of a fanfic contest and then flames Miss Windy for daring to point out that they are biased? (Hell, that BIAS doesn't even begin to cover this mutual masturbatory society??)

Does not compute . . . system overloaded . . . o.O
