There are no words....
[info]afamilyaffair appears to be dedicated to the fic phenom known as "Twincest". It appears that fangirls cornered the twins who play Fred and George Weasley and explained exactly *what* twincest was to them, and then made them hold up a sign about it whilst the aforementioned squealing fangirls took their picture.

To quote from the entry: Needless to say, they were pretty shocked. But i like to think it was suprise more than disgust...

Uhm. Yeah. You just told them that people get off from fanticizing about them doing peversions to each other. I'm sure they were "suprised more than disgusted". Yeah. Right. Whatevah.

I'm not able to see the sign, for which I'm very happy, btw.

Not much wank in the comments yet, but it's a comin'. I can feel it rolling in, like a thunderstorm building...

If nothing else, I'm at least pleased to see that the overwhelming majority of posters so far are not happy with the brain-dead bimbos fangirls who felt the need to tell the actors about the twincest fic.

Ah, it's because the image is at Angelfire; you'll need to copy/paste it into your brower window. (although that's not working for me either at the moment; it says it's been shut down temporarily for using too much bandwidth...)

What's with 142978 calling this an "outing" of twincest? As if the actors were shocked not because they were squicked, but because they thought they'd been found out. :p

And twincest *happens*. IRL. I got a private email from a set of twins who will remain nameless concerning the subject once. You can't bitch about writing about things that happen IRL.

Okay. Right. Because that's some OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE right there. I should show twincest to ALL my twin friends! I bet they'd grin sheepishly and scuff their toes on the ground and admit it in a bashful voice. I think I understand now - because it happens, that makes it all right to shove under the noses of those (twins! twins with connections to JKR) to whom it applies! TEEHEE!

It's not often that I'm rendered speechless, but this forum has managed to do it twice in one week.

What kind of person brings that shit up when meeting a celebrity? I'd be more concerned with saying "Hi! How are you? I loved your work in ____" or whatever the case may be. Who walks up to someone and says, "Hey. My friends and I write you and him fucking like rabbits. Yeah, we know you're brothers, but it's HOT." Please dear God, let that NOT be what they said.

Me head. It go boom.

All I can say is that those Phelps(?) kids have an amazing amount of self-control, to not scream in horror and run away immediately after hearing that. Not only that, but to actually hold the sign!

J.K. Rowling, how many ruined lives will you and your fandom leave in your wake? ;)

*facepalm* Oh dear. Yes, twincest happens. More commonly in seperated twins, but not always. But the majority of identical male twins, even the ones who are both gay, find the idea absolutely fucking repulsive. It's in all the twin studies books. I suggest these people actually read some. 'Twins: Genes Environment and the Mystery Of Heredity', by Lawrence Wright, is available on Amazon from about $8 and does include such wonders as discussion of sexual orientation in identical twins. Actually, it's just a damn good book. More people should read it.

Jeezuz. Stupid, wrong, completely incomprehensible . . . I thought it was dumb when fans just showed their illegal materials to the PTB or actors (like that Firefly video scandal awhile back), but this takes the fucking cake.

There really should be an graphics award system set up for stupid fannish antics like this.

Beatings.

Beatings need to be administered RIGHT FUCKING NOW.

First I hear that JKR has resorted to hiring a private bodyguard, and now this . . .

Seriously, incest fic and RPS are things I like to stay the hell away from, but hey, whatever floats people's boat. Until a few people decide that they need to inform the objects of lust people in question, which just goes way, WAY beyond TMI.

This reminds me of something that happened in the LOTR fandom quite awhile back. A fanfic writer went on a bunch of mailing lists saying she had met Ian McKellan and his boyfriend Nick while working at a resteraunt I believe it was. She told them she had a site erected to slash (she is one of the more popular authors) and explained to them what rps and fps were. According to her they took it well, went to her website, and left fb in the guestbook. The fandom on the other hand tore her a new one.

I personally think it's in bad taste to go up to anyone you don't know (wheather they are gay or not) and tell them you fantasize and write stories about them having sex with their fellow actors. Of course the smackdown she ended up getting was beyond cruel, so I do find myself feeling bad for her, as she is a nice person I've heard.
