FFML Wank... a-gain~
A disagreement on a fic. Basically, some people were fanboying the author in question, and doing stuff like harrassing those who didn't like the story, posting private correspondence publicly, lashing out at the mods, and generally being huge bitches. Posting priviliges are revoked, tempbans are handed out. Mods are accused of favoritism, and people post "Not that I'm saying you suck, but god you suck, bye now" messages.
Typical day on the FFML.
Basically, it goes like this:
Author: "Here is a story! It's another retelling of Ranma from the start, but with the Amazons figuring big right from the start."
Side A: "Eh. It's a little derivative, and here are some plot holes we noticed, do with them as you will."
Side B: "God we love this. All your stuff is so good. When are you gonna work on your other stuff? Shut up, Side A!"
Author: "Well, I don't really see them as plot holes for this and this reason, but it's okay."
Side A: "Are you sure? Well, as you will."
Side B: "God, I can't believe you'd dare to say that to the BNA! This is -BNA-!!! How DARE you not like his stuff? You ignorant pusballs!"
Mod: "Calm down, please. Flame thread is done with, feel free to actually calm down and talk about the fic some more."
Donald Granberry: "THAT SIDE A BASTARD DB SOMMER BLOCKED MY EMAIL REPLY TO HIS PRIVATE REPLY TO ME! SO HERE'S THAT PRIVATE EMAIL, PLUS MY SCREAMING AT HIM! BAN ME, YOU FASCIST EVIL BASTARDS THAT SUPPORT THE BASHING OF BNA!!! YOU LET IT HAPPEN, YOU EVIL SONS OF BITCHES, AND I BET YOU'LL BAN ME FOR THIS TOO! YOUR MOTHER SUCKS COCKS IN HELL, BLARRRRG!!!!"
Me: "..." . o O ( The fuck? o.o;; )
Mod: "Ho-kay, done. Here's a list of who's warned, who's lost posting priviliges, and who's banned."
New Party: "Oh, mod? Not that you suck, but geez, everything you does sucks. And not that you're being favoritist, but you gave slaps on the wrists to people that were your friends and were way too hard on everyone else. And not that I think you're a lousy mod, but you don't do your job and need to step down as mod immediately. And not that I think that your not enforcing worship of BNA is worth leaving the list over, but I'm leaving the list."
That's it in summary. If anyone can expand on this better, please feel free. n.n

Yeah, probably just as accurate as anything. n.n I didn't read the messages in-depth, but it just seemed to me that most of the wank was coming from the author's defenders, who were like "You HAVE to like this fic! It's BNA! For the love of God, -BNA-!!!!!!"
Or... something. n.n;;; I mostly stay on the FFML because I'm desperate for C&C and get twice as much if I use the FFML. (All of TWO feedback emails per fic!)

	I have to ask.. BNA? Beefy Nude Author? Buxom Needy Angel? Brown Nosing Aardvark?? ^_^ I'll C&C some of your stuff.. When I get around to reading it. Manga is my limit at the moment. Most longer stories tend to not be retained, although that seems to be improving.. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	I find that there's a tendancy in most fandoms to place random(fanfiction_author) somewhere below and to the right of God. ...so yeah. There's a discussion like that everywhere. And occasionally the mods /are/ the one who worship the BNA(!, BNA!), which leads to...scary things. I'm going to hide in my tiny little nofanfictionfoundyetthankgod fandom's skirts now.
