Say it ain't so, Lij....
While I was reading that great Dom/Lij wank and laughing my ass off I stumbled across this one. Apparently little Lij is ripshit that Peter Jackson decided to hand out more trinkets from LOTR.

Direct from IMBD.com:
Lord Of The Rings star Elijah Wood is fuming after discovering he's not the only cast-member with the fabled gold band from the sci-fi trilogy. Wood, who was given one of the bands used in the film, was furious when he discovered co-star Andy Serkis was also presented a replica ring by director Peter Jackson after reshooting some crucial scenes for the final film Return Of The King this year. And now, in a move which mirrors the dramatic tussle between Wood's character Frodo and Serkis' creepy Gollum in second installment The Two Towers, the pair are planning to fight over the second trinket. Co-star Dominic Monaghan says, "They gave Elijah the ring at the end of the first film and then they gave Andy Serkis the ring at the end of refilming this year and Elijah was really, really annoyed. Gollum and Frodo got one each - they have to fight for it." Wood, Monaghan and fellow Hobbits Sean Astin and Billy Boyd also got to keep their fake feet from the three films.

Do we have a younger version of Anne Rice on our hands? I can't seem to understand why giving away a prop from a movie would be such a big deal, especially since he got the original one...and Goddess knows how many One Rings they made... Why are they fighting over both? A wise man named Willy Wonka once said something along the lines of "Everyone has had one, and one is enough for everybody."

Someone, explain it to my poor addled brain, please?

That's wonderful to hear. That's the last time I trust IMBD again. The actual link I got it from was here: http://us.imdb.com/PeopleNews//#5

Glad to hear he's not wanking about it. Those actors really seem to get along well together. It would really be a shame to see 'em go at it over a stupid ring.

*phew* I was gonna say... in all the interviews I've seen him in, he seemed to be a *lot* more well-adjusted than that...

okay, so the only "interviews" I've seen him in were part of the Two Towers PS2 game... but they were darned funny...

Yeesh! He already has a ring, what's he want two for? Or is this just a case of "I'm the only one who should have one", which is really childish - if it's true.

They're not fighting over it. That quote from Dom (said jokingly, on the Sharon Osbourne Show) was taken out of context to stir shit on a gossip board, I guess (will wonders never cease? *g*).

Is <ahref="http://www.journalfen.net/community/dl_anon/151052.html">this</a> where you read about it? Because the point HnK was making in the post is how things are taken out of context.

Domlijah and the Tinhats may be the Wank to End All Wanks, but this isn't part of it. Sorry. Try again.

Damn, I wish we could edit comments.

"This" is supposed to be a link: http://www.journalfen.net/community/dl_anon/151052.html

Sorry.

Didn't the IMDB report that Elijah was thisclose to proposing to Franka Potente when they were dating? Yep, that happened. They probably just write a little blip if they get any news that sounds like it has potential, because if they'd done only a few minutes of research they would have discovered that Dom wasn't serious about there being a feud between Elijah and Andy Serkis.

The ONE Ring....s

Anyhow a bunch of rings were made for LOTR. They needed spares in case they were damaged, rings with the writing and rings without, rings in case the rings got lost....

I heard that about half the rings vanished from the first movie anyhow :D

I know the Farscape actress who plays Zhaan has one so it's not like they are exactly elite and restricted to LOTR?

You forget, they also made them in multiple sizes to maintain the scale between humans and hobbits and so on.

*nods* Plus, y'know, the ring can change its size whenever it wants to stir shit up.

Elijah Wood is taking the one prop to the steam baths of Los Angeles, to throw it in and destroy the legions of Theyaregay and the Fangirls under it's unholy command.
