From DL_Anon, the lovely birthplace of much snark, is this.

nicehobbit links to her post where she tells MsA to shut up. [info]elvishhobbit rants about her vendetta against MsA, and is absolutely certain that Ellijah is straight. And she uses that goddamned "Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win you're still retarded." quote. Is there a law for using that quote? If not, there really should be. It's really pissing me off. >_<

And everyone should love [info]cesare for this:

On a day when we already have six other front-page posts on this community, it seems like a waste of space to me to put up a new post just to point at your journal where you're screaming "Shut up".

Remember, posts on this community show up on 300+ peoples' friends lists. I hope everyone will please consider that before making new front page posts in the future, especially on a busy day

It was stupid the first time anyone said it and it's even more stupid now when every idiot on the net drags it out to mean "I'm allowed to be a bitch all I want and if you argue with me then you're retarded." I think its use should be not only an automatic argument loss but also cause for summary banning on the grounds of triteness and idiocy.

You gotta admit that once upon a time the phrase and picture were moderately useful and briefly funny when flashed at endless stupid flamewars, of course that lasted for roughly two days before everyone and their dog wanted to look cool by flashing the pic.

There should be, just like there should be one against using Comic Sans. I hate that goddamned font.

The quote is inaccurate, anyway. Even most mentally challenged people can make more coherent arguments than MsA et al.

If any party outside said online debate invokes the same quote to try to make the participants feel stupid, the invoking party will be deemed a troll and treated accordingly.

Honestly it's not that the quote doesn't have a good point, it's that it's almost always used by the folks who just got their asses handed to 'em.

I mean sure the opposing side poked holes in every single one of their arguments, but hey they have this nifty graphic so nya-nya!
