I went through this with Guy 1 saying the creator of Gunsmith Cats always intended Rally to be gay. He wound up threatening to kill my children over it. c.c

Seriously? Okay, now that's just taking things a bit too far.

And really, how hard would it be for Popper to copy and paste a friggin' link? If he didn't actually make it up, then all he would really have to do is find one link. Just one would at least get the other posters to ease up a little, then they can decide for themselves whether or not Popper's source is full of crap.

But instead they're told to "go off to their sandboxes" because Popper just might be the laziest wanker in history.

Yeah. Thing was that, unlike in this wank, I wasn't even telling the guy (his name was C. Richard Davies, btw) that he was WRONG. I was just asking for proof. He went OFF, started screaming that his friend had told him and that should be enough for an idiot like me and was I calling his friend a liar, and proceeded to harrass and stalk me for MONTHS. x.x;;;

Really? I thought Davies was into the whole 'lesbian/femmeslash/yuri' deal. Hell I think he'd be happy that a cool female lead like Rally was canonically gay.

Well, yeah, he was. He is into that whole thing, as long as it conforms exactly to his own ideas. (When he was in his whole phase of stalking me, he once left a comment on one of my fics to the effect of "What kind of idiot could POSSIBLY think Rei and Usagi have anything but disgust for each other?")
He wasn't wanky over the possibility of Rally being gay. He was super-freaky-wanky over my asking for some small shred of proof that the creator had said this, as he claimed.

Shit, really? Richard Davies? I used to love his fanfics, when he was writing them! And I knew he was always big on the lesbians thing. But I had no idea he was such a raging ass hole. Sad, really. He was talented...

Must have been a couple of months. I reported him to the college his IP was routed through, and it started tapering off after that. I also reported him to Yahoo and any other email service he used to harrass me with.

Seriously, though, maybe she means jewish-american-princesses. I hear the term 'JAP' used a lot more often than "Jap" for Japanese. It's not nice, of course, but since her other interests include Israel and Israelis, she may be irritated with them the way that I get irritated with certain people from West Virginia who give the whole state a bad name, that I and others have to live down...

Basically, it's a Type. Suburban high schools near major centers of Jewish population tend to be rife with JAPs -- rich, snobby, "My Daddy..." and so on.

*nodnods* I've heard the term used to describe a lot of the girls that join the Jewish sororities here on campus. They all went to the same prestigegious highschool (Stevenson, for those from the Chicago suburbs), their parents have more money than God, they date only the hottest boys, etc., etc.

Of course, the fact that almost ALL the really rich suburban girls act that way kind of puts a damper on the whole 'Jewish' argument; I call them all Suburban Princesses. But of course, I'm not racist.

Lol, this one just made me laugh. I don't see why they even made a deal out of it. Well, I'm not necessarily a Harry Potter fan and am not entirely familiar with the actors or characters. I've nothing against though, of course... except maybe the astounding number of wanks and flame wars that have emerged from this fandom. But what would our world be like and do without the wankiness though? :)

Right. Well, I'm sure that any HP news is of interest and matters to the fans. But what I really don't understand is why he won't give his fellow community members any of the sources from which he got that information from and why he thinks it's such a waste of time. And then there's the immediate "you're childish and have no life" bit. My goodness, just how many times have we seen that "said" in basically all fandom disputes? If any flame wars or disputes must take place, then it would seem that the arguments and insults would be a tad bit more original and... unwanky. It's funny, but quite petty, in my opinion.
