2:05am: Because fandom is fucking funny!
The life of a BNF is lonely and harsh, but somehow I carry on.

BNF post are always funniest when you have no idea who someone is, but apparently she has a history. Maybe some folks will come in and share it with us ;)

Eheheheh. It occurs to me that by assuming "if someone is a BNF then course we would have heard of him/her/it" implies that we consider ourselves the high experts on the members and politics of ALL fandom(s) and, thus, are guilty of wanking furiously ourselves.

2:28pm: Mod Post
This is the Mod account for fandom_wank. We're going to set some ground rules going forward so we can get back to full-time wankery.

1. Stormfreak is off-topic. Seriously folks, we're done with her. She has nothing to do with fandom and she's a troll. While she was fun for awhile it is now past the point of being old and moldy. If you really miss her, we can revisit the issue in a couple of weeks, but I think you'll find that we'll have more fun not feeding her ego. So this should be the last mention of Stormfreak on Fandom_wank.

2. Icons - offers and requests should go to fandom_lounge Don't forget there is also the icons community and they might be interested as well. Sames goes with banners and such. Basically, fandom_lounge is for socializing.

3. Please consider before making a new post to fandom_wank. If you're commenting on a currently active wank, it can probably go in the comments for that thread. If you do not have links to something new, there is not much point in making a new post and you should probably direct your ire to fandom_rant. If you're inclined to preface your post with "I'm not sure if this is a wank," or "It's not really a wank yet," then reconsider posting it. Occasionally, we have slow news days. There's nothing wrong with that. It keeps us fresh for the good stuff.

Feel free to discuss, disagree, whatever.

3:00pm: I'll delete this in an hour (or someone can do it for me) but can everyone who wants to talk the "rule" thingy come over here (had to create a new group as the FW one doesn't have that feature) and talk it out in the chat room.

Because it's so much easier than going by comments, and people can really say what they feel, and why. And we can talk it out properly.

3:54pm: A poll.
Due to the recent debate over the role of mods in this community, we're holding a poll. Decide if you would like a modded community, where off topic posts are discouraged, or an unmodded community, where mods only deal with trolls. The first option will mean less icon and newbie posts, and will cut down on the number of posts that go through here. The second will allow more freedom of posting, but you'll have to put up with some uniteresing posts. Either is fine with us, but we need to know which you'd rather.


Below is a poll (bravenet because JF hasn't got polls set up). Everyone in the community is encouraged to vote, to let us know what you think.
