12:09am: I am the Queen of Bronze Wank!
I always say I'm not going back to that board, I'm not going to post anymore from it on here, but I am weak. Weak like woman. And this was too good.

You see, it's all about current affairs, and the rights of American citizens, and intelligent debate . . . only not really. This is the Bronze, so it's REALLY about personal attacks, an excuse to use the word "cock" over and over, backpedaling, homophobia, and whining! In this corner, Ericthebuffywatcher, whose liberal heart is in the right place but unfortunately not connected to his brain at all. And in this corner, Troll (who is, despite appearances and handle, a Bronze regular) whose personal grudge against Eric means far more to him than supporting his beliefs. God I love an argument where absolutely nobody is right.

misswindy pointed out badficsupport to us a while back as a place for potential wank. Well, it seems like this sort of community might be the beginning of a new trend, as today I heard of this place (thanks to a post in fanficrants):

Like the info says, it's in the same flavor as u_make_lj_suck in the sense that it doesn't link directly to the fics commented upon. And, if you think about how THAT community has fared in the past, I think the potential for eventually finding wank here is more than obvious...

1:15am: arteests can be wanky too!
n00b here. Been lurking for quite sometime, and was finally persuaded to join--if, for, nothing else, to post this particular tidbit. Sadly, it didn't get flamewar-y before it was locked, but watch Jeebus boggle at the ability of the human mind to completely miss the point.

DeviantArt is the ff.net of the artist world. It's a breeding ground for morons, sychophants, and elite-only-in-your-heads. ( Daily Top Favorites is a 'special' feature to get word of your art to a bigger view-base. )

Apparently though, some people highly resent the artwork that gets into the DTF (even if it's not the artists' fault), and get pretty insulting about it. So Pink makes a petition at the suggestion board, asking for an option to allow some of one's artwork to be excluded from DTFs, among other things.

Wank of the Elitist Kind ensues.

Nuggets of joy include insulting the type of art one enjoys, the 'if you can't take the heat get out' response, the admin-holier-than-thou getting... well, holier-than-thou, and my personal favorite, the 'OMGWTFBBQ' U ONLY HAVE 2 POSTS I HVE 1000000 WHA U KNO?!?!111

But, if nothing else, watch nearly all those involved completely miss the point as their blinders kick on.

2:52am: Gundam Wing Wank
Hi. *waves* This is my first time reporting wank here, so I'm just hoping this hasn't been reported already.

When Gundam Wing ran on Cartoon Network, it sparked several thousand teenies to scream "TEH PRETTEH BISHIE" and make crappy character shrines full of the offical art found everywhere else (Not to mention fun yaoi vs. non yaoi fights, bad fan art/fanfic, but I digress).

Some time ago, possibly on Blurty, someone started collecting all of the "What The Shit Is This?" icons. Just wondering who has them, and if they are available to view anywhere.

While I am on the subject, there were also several Fandom Wank icons offered for sharing in the past. Anyone have a collection up?

7:45pm: Sparkly wank a-brewin'
I've seen references on LJ about something rude said in public about a Lance story that didn't portray him in the best light. Can someone point us to the specifics? I would link if I had 'em.

[Edit: I stand corrected by lain7 - it's not a Lance story, but a story about Trace, Justin's best friend. Yes, an Nsync wank about a non-Nsync member, to give you an idea of just how deep popwank can run.]

8:04pm: Battle of the Popslash BNFs
It started so innocently. One of the Sandies posts some stories that she wrote as birthday presents. Feedback of all stripes is welcomed and Betty takes her literally and leaves a comment which can now only be read here because it's since been deleted.

Defriendings occur.

A new post is made about constructive criticism. A clarifying post is made about the original comment.

More clarification occurs, this time by the original writer of the story.

Along the way, other people get their feelings hurt.

And then two BNFs living off their reputations of old decide to make their pronouncements from on high: Pot and Kettle. And the rest of us tell them to SHUT THE FUCK UP!

There are many more posts making some reference to the events of the day, but these are the main ones. If I missed any or any of them turn out to be locked (I didn't check) I'll edit. And it should be noted that this entire kerfuffle is about a secondary character in the popslash fandom. For those who are unfamiliar, Trace is Justin Timberlake's best friend. I suppose you're not really famous until there's been a fandom war about you so the boy has now arrived. Heh.

Oh, and Katie? Happy Birthday ;)

10:25pm: Small but...wtf?
Star Wars RPG wank!

So Raging Sekhmet posts the profile of someone who recently applied to join her Star Wars RPG and dissects it point by point to show why it sucks. Although she seems to be a biton the angry side, the character was rather icky, and several people agree with that.

Rann suggests that although the character indeed has many flaws, there are legitimate explanations for a couple of the problems. Rann agrees it's a bad app, but suggests that Sekhmet count to ten and calm down. An anonymous poster agrees with this.

And Sekhmet goes apeshit.

And I go "wtf?"
