12:10am: Hey, I found a mini-wank. A wank-in-waiting.
On the Calvin and Hobbes fan community, someone complains about the automobile decals of Calvin peeing on things.

The use of the best comic strip character of all time to debase car companies, political figures, other countries, etc. etc. etc., is something that really gets me riled up. I have almost gone off the road on numerous occassions because I have become so angry at my fellow drivers' non-comprehension of the Calvin character. Calvin would not pee on Chevy.

Not too much wank goes on in comments (yet); although the first poster tells him/her that s/he's taking things too seriously. There is a link to a previous post about the same issue in which a poster is told she will go to hell for having a Hobbes-peeing-on-Snoopy car decal.
And there's another post with an online comic strip semi-mocking the decals.

Calvin would not pee on Chevy!!

11:51am: Buzzcocks Wank!
From the mailing-list buzzcocks@topica.com, we have proof that no one is too cool to wank:

It starts when someone pre-emptively decides no one is to mention Sept 11th )

Oddly, some people find this post somewhat incendiary.

Freedom of speech! )

And, of course, the innate wankery of being the first to mention something you don't want anyone to mention is soon noticed.

Well, now you've mentioned it... )

It's not quite Godwin's Law, but it's close, and on only the second response. Is that some kind of record?

Don't mention the war! )

Politics? What politics? )

I think the moral of the story is - don't object to the raising of a subject by raising it yourself. Doh!

7:43pm: Rookie here, First Wank
I've been involved with the lotr fandom for awhile now. One fanfic writer was making a pretty big splash on the lists I joined, so I went to read her stuff. It was okay, nothing spectacular. However, she had quite a following. (Some of her fans claim she was the *first* person to EVER put actors in fanfic, you know, write RP stuff about them) ..um...okay...

A few months in and she announces that she's tired of it all and she's LEAVING. All fanfic archives will immediately remove ALL of her stories. NOW. She's leaving. (Inside scoop was that she either worked for or was Craig Parker, who played Haldir in the movies. She actually loved it that people thought that and let it get tossed around, until it just became...'too much')

About a month ago, this pops up.

She's back online, has her site up and running. I mean, it's called Casa del Snarqe. I'm thinking...'wanker' even before I read her FAQ. Wankworthy? )
9:03pm: Hamtaro soon-to-be-wank!
Juigi likes Hamtaro. A lot. In fact, if you don't like it, he wants to put the smackdown on you.

A few people say "bring it on, bitch!"

And I sit back and wait for the fur to fly.

Edit: I don't know if the latest entry here was caused by this or something else, but I'm snickering either way. You reap what you sow.

Edit edit: The saga continues!
