12:25am: Remember that _ratemy_journal wangst a few days back? Well, one of the moderators of that community, obduratecrimson (the one who threw a big hissy fit over someone's journal containing "spoilers" on Frodo's "death"), wrote this nice wangst-worthy entry on her personal journal as a reaction to same supposedly nasty comments she got.

9:04am: Timeless wank: Mac vs PC
Is there anything as wanky as a Mac fan with ruffled feathers? Everyone is allowed to laugh at PCs, but God help you if you mock the Mighty Blue Apple. And yes, I consider people who go on and on about how great Macs are to be fanboy/girls.

Ah, a wank of my very own, I feel so proud. And slightly guilty, since I'm wanking my friends *blush* It's still quite a small wank, but I can see it growing. I'm hoping for someone to turn up and be offended about the Windows RG.

Just an addition to the Hamtaro/Juigi wankage!

We get an entry in his LJ that simply says:

People who insult Hamtaro no more belong on my FL than people who would make my private entries public.

Okay, now, I'm not sure who he's referring to about making his private entries public (I'm halfway wondering if he means me for F_Wing this, in which case I say get over it bitch, the Hamtaro entry was public), but...dude.

He's also completely blocked all commenting in his journal because of one comment he received about Hamtaro being stupid.

Overreacting much?

I almost wish I had a Hamtaro/Juigi OTP icon to use for this post, but I'll use Ass Kong since that wank originated with him too. <3

5:51pm: One more time
The latest in the case of Duran Duran fans vs. Justin Timberlake:

A local London rag claims that Justin will cover Duran's beloved "Save a Prayer." "Save a Prayer" is a sacred cow. And Durannies are pissed.

As if the VMA and collaboration rants weren't wanky enough, more wank ensues, including the ever-so-clever snark "Justin Timbergay." They do realize that their favorite band was once known for androgyny, right?

The funny thing is 1) no one's taking into account that the article is probably completely fabricated and 2) none of the Nsync/Justin Timberlake fans care.

Not the wankiest, but it's amusing how Durannies Won't. Stop. Grabbing. The Bait. Isn't there a term for the one thing that's guaranteed to get everyone frothing at the mouth? I'm blanking. Whatever it is, Justin is clearly it for this fandom.

For now we'll just call it wankbait.

6:40pm: Waaaaaaaanktastic.
Normally, Craig's List is a place where you can get a job, a house, a pet, furniture, and a new significant other all one website. However, throw a message board into the mix, and you get this.

Normally the diversity of hipsters, yuppies, 9-5ers, and just about every other person is a cool thing...but not when they're all fucking bickering with each other.

On the other hand, it's kinda like fandom_wank for real life in and of itself.

It's brilliant.

10:31pm: It's never too late for wank
I'm surprised no one has posted this already...


So Justacat creates a slash resource site that claims to be "A compilation of other people's slashfic rec sites, recommended stories, story archives, and other useful information for the committed and occasional slasher." Many rejoice. Some not so much.



Acadine has some complaints ranging from minor to a bit bigger. Her initial rant is over mistakes made by justacat, the scope/audience of Justacat's site, slashers ("Most (not all) of the "dedicated slashers" [she's] encountered") and misogyny, leading her to wonder: "Given that justacat has already made the fuckups relating to my fic above, compounded with the audience she's catering to, I really don't want to be asscociated with her site. I don't need the creepiness on top of the incompetance, basically, and her site isn't providing me any kind of real benefit to outweight the fuckups."


People respond, from differing sides, some taking offense, some agreeing that they too have issues with the site, some defending justacat, and so the debate in the comments go into several different directions.



Then Acadine posts a second momumental post summarizing her side, justacat's defender's points, with bulleted lists. You have to applaud her thoroughness. I'm sure I would have given up half way through and resorted to just cursing at everybody.

11:05pm: Cowboy Bebop wank
"You're all a bunch of BABIES! By the way, anybody got any Bebop poetry?"

And it CONTINUES.

This really makes me wish I had a Wen "What the shit is this?" icon.
