9:35pm: MMORPG wank!
Ragnarok Online is this MMORPG that was originally released in Korea, but became quite popular and was released worldwide. However, the international version is still relatively new, and as such, not everything in the Korean version is on the international version. This is slowly being amended through various patches that are periodically released.

One such patch adjusted the various jobs to make them more equal, since Hunters and Wizards had a few unfair advantages.

Naturally, someone isn't happy with this. At all.

Because having to use actual strategy is way too difficult, and we liked our players being overly powerful.

This is my first post here, though I've read this place for awhile. I simply had to bring this wank to the attention of the masses, as it's tucked away in a little corner of the Lord of the Rings fandom and likely to be missed. That would just be sad, as it is a Wank Du Jour: a wank that personally involves the actor being wanked about.

If you're not involved in LotR, or even if you are, you might not know who Jorn Benzon is. Jorn had an extremely tiny TINY part in The Fellowship of the Ring, playing Haldir's brother Rumil, accumulating all of about ten seconds of screen time. As with most things attached to Lord of the Rings though, he's gained himself a small fangirlish following.

Jorn has his own forum, which he moderates and posts on. Rather regularly, and often in broken, semi-literate computer speak. He's also very proud of his status as a 'movie star.' You can see what's coming, can't you?

Jorn has a section on his board called Ask Jorn. One day, a curious anon asks Jorn which elf he plays in the movies. Jorn replies with disbelief, as his picture is pasted all over everything from one end of the site to the other. Several people chime in and say this person must be joking or taking the piss.

I can't link to individual posts on this board, but 8 posts down on the first page, the fun begins when someone comes back and says that the anon was indeed taking the piss, to see if Jorn is really the arrogant jerk it's been rumored he is. (Rumored where, one has to wonder? Are there other Jorn boards out there?)

Of course, a huge rush of fangirls come out to defend him. Then, 10 posts down on the second page, Jorn comes in to defend himself and say 'omg I'm soooo not a jerk!!!11' More people agree with him.

Then on the next page, 'resolutor' comes in to tell us what we've all been thinking from the start. A bit later on down that page, Jorn comes back yet again, wondering if this is an ex-girlfriend out to get him. And if you're wondering what the hell all the stuff about fan fic is, apparently Jorn is judging a Rumil fan fiction contest hosted on his site.

Eventually this thread dissolves into sage advice that 'u need to chill' and stuff about 9/11.

That board is a circus and I can't stay away. *weeps*
