LaFeeMechante doesn't care much for Hermione Granger. But that doesn't stop her from writing a Draco/Hermione fic that wins the Icicle Award for best fic in the 'ship. This excites her greatly, although in her LJ post announcing her win she admits she only wrote the fic because she wanted to write about Draco and doesn't like Hermione at all.

This is apparently deeply troubling to Schuywriter, who is a mod at the PIRA awards, yet another award for Draco/Hermione fics (is this ship really that big?). LaFee's fic is nominated for the PIRA Award, as well, and all hell breaks loose when the nomination is declined because LaFee is not a *true* Draco/Hermione 'shipper. (Warning: that LJ entry is *long*... so long, in fact, that it appears to have exceeded LJ's maximum entry size limit.)

Highlights include the delineation of requirements for true Draco/Hermione shipperdom, invocation of the First Amendment, an insider's view into the mind of JK Rowling and much cross-posting of private e-mails.

This was just priceless.

zannechaos made a post a day or so ago in fanficrants regarding Bad Fic writers and how we may not spend money reading them, but we do spend time. It was a good rant, and just about everyone agreed with her.

Today, anonymous the coward comes in and says: You shouldn't review people who don't want you to know how bad their writing is. (Yeah, made no sense to me, either.)

zannechaos and I reply a few times. And it becomes obvious that said anonymous person is reading Zanne's journal.

So, zannechaos locks the journal entry before she and I discuss this person's IP address. (Meaning said anonymous person should no longer be able to read it, right? Right? Heh.) Said post from Zanne's journal is over here.

Apparently the anonymous coward is still able to read the entry and see what we're saying to each other. Hmmm...

So, after some detective work, zannechaos figures out who our little anonymous poster is.

It's evidently narushinjo. Who is still attempting to claim it's not him/her/whatever.

12:26pm: My first wank!
Music fandom wank. Someone says System Of A Down are a pop band.

Wank ensues.

My favourite bit; "System of a Down is not pop music, anyone who says it is has got their head shoved up their stretched asshole from butt fucking their gay lover last night."

4:22pm: PSA: Support Your Wank Habit Day
Journalfen is now using about 200 Gigs of bandwidth a month. According to zorrorojo, the bulk of that traffic is coming from fandom_wank and dl_anon, but only a handful of posters here and there have signed up for paid accounts.

Without zorrorojo, FW would still be wandering in the wilderness. She's provided us with this lovely playground (which is a hell of a lot more reliable than LJ these days). It's only fair that those of us who can afford to should help defray the costs of keeping it running. Besides, where else can you get such high-quality crack at such low prices?

9:20pm: The O.C. wank
My first post here. I'm never sure when something is wanky and when it's not. After a conversation with a friend, we agreed that it was wanky.

It began on the 20th and the thread is still going.

Me(9:04:30 PM): Okay, here's the thing. Here in Canada, we get the new episode on the Monday while you guys get it on the Wednesday. Somebody made a post about it. You have the whole "Canada rocks! Oh it's so great to be Canadian" post and comments. And then American jumps in and from there it goes bad. People starts insulting the countries, terrorism is brought into the whole thing and silly arguement are used. "You're just jealous you don't have a O.C. in your country." "And you're just jealous we invented hockey, the greatest sport in the world."
