4:22pm: Dude.
You know what? I can't resist anymore. Every time this guy posts, my mouse finger starts itching. He's just too strange to be believed.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to TediusZanarukando, the latest contender for the title of Wankiest Fire Emblem Fan Ever.

(Quick note: The forum these posts were made at has the option of letting you change what name is displayed by your posts, and some people change their names far too often for me to keep up with. I refer to people with the names they're best known by, but different names may appear next to the posts...sorry about that.)

A brief sampling from his resume:

FE4 is an old game, back from the Super NES era. We all agree that it would be pretty cool to have a remake someday, but nobody's been holding their breath. Except for him!

Most people fall somewhere between "yeah, cool idea, but it'll never happen" or "why bother?" Starwolf, who didn't want to see a remake, takes exception at being compared to those "old, nostalgic, Final Fantasy fans"--I guess he's not plebe enough to enjoy it or something. Seti gives a list of logical reasons why a remake is unlikely. Tedius, however, doesn't get it, and continues going on about what the game will have. He also asserts that "millions of American ZSNES users have downloaded the Seisen no Keifu ROM," which I find just a wee bit unlikely.

When killershiva (who changes his name rather often, so I don't know what it is today) points out (again) that the chances of a remake are very low, Tedius replies: "Similar posts have been made to every remake thread I post only to keep me from getting the remake."

And everyone else goes: WTF? and starts arguing about names--since the only translation available to date is a fan translation, there have always been multiple ways of writing each name floating around in the fandom. There's also an "official" set of names that, like most Japanese names written in English by non-English speakers, are very very scary (these are often referred to as the "Treasure" names in these posts, after the sourcebook they appeared in).

DTFan makes a point that should shut everyone up: "Romanization is always a pain, don't complain unless you can do better..."

But like the Energizer Bunny, he just keeps going and going and going...

He also likes to start threads about things that are common knowledge to Fire Emblem fans, and naturally the regulars are a bit irate about being treated like noobs, by a noob.

Then there's the matter of the FE4 translation patch. Eaichu started an effort to get the existing patch cleaned up, because there was a lot wrong with it. He recruits Summerwolf to retranslate, because the more she checks things with the original script, the more obvious it becomes that the whole thing needs an overhaul. So Summer starts a thread about people's preferences on how to romanize the names. She explicitly states from the very beginning that she will not be using the Treasure names, because the majority of the fandom agrees that they suck.

Looks like somebody missed the news flash!

Let's not forget when he asks an entire forum full of Fire Emblem fans if anyone has beaten an FE game.

He also sparked off some crap about sexism that I'm too lazy to write up the Cliff Notes for...not to mention the Final Fantasy thread that turns into speculation on why the hell anyone would give up their religion for video games.

The real kicker, though, is this.

If you click nothing else, just click that last one. Because...WHAT. THE. FUCK.
7:30pm: star trek wangst!
For your viewing pleasure.

I'm sure that some of you have heard of LaVette. She is totally obsessed with Brent Spiner. You can even have a look at her poorly designed website here. So what's the story behind this angst? LaVette is currently going after a friend of mine for selling a Brent Spiner CD on her website -- the profits from the CD sales get sent directly to him. LaVette is accusing this friend of filtering the money for her own needs.

Even Brent hates LaVette because she is so completely consumed with obsession. She wrote this horrid piece of shit PWP story about her (LaVette) and Brent Spiner, and about how he was really an alien from another planet, and he impregnated her. Together they returned to his planet where she was given all these magical powers during her pregnancy. It is the worst piece of ST tripe I have ever read. I'm sure that some of you here know exactly the story I'm talking about.

So...comment upon the wangst/wank at will. Posting on the voting site is fun too, I've found!
