12:08am: Ancient Wank
This dates WAAAAY back from May 2003, but it's pretty damned wanky.

The angels in Wish are genderless, but Tokyopop is evil and censored the yaoi love story by making them girls!

I actually haven't seen much wank about Wish and the genderless thing. Then again, I tend to hang on the fringes of the CLAMP fandoms...still, I wouldn't be surprised if there WAS piles of wank about this at one time or another. :P

1:52am: This is not Hollywood.
4Kids Entertainment licenses "Tokyo Mew Mew", and discusses some of the changes here. One of which is that the show will be renamed "Hollywood Mew Mew", and will have its locale "changed" accordingly.

Hilarity ensues.

This is a new post from the yaoi community.

This girl's site is submitted to the famed Portal of Evil site. Rightly so because her artwork...well, let's just say that I agree with the caption about "Garden of Eden" and with the current posters. Does that make me a homophobe? She seems to think so.

man, i saw on this board people complaining about the role of women in troy as prizes. man im sick of women flocking to boys films. troy will be violent, lots of battle scenes. to be male is to like watching violent films. women should go to their romantic comedies. women flocked to lord of the rings and now with troy. its a double standard, guys dont go to chick flicks in record numbers, but you go to ours and no one cares.

embraceable_you on the clay_aiken community asks for his home address, and when confronted with replies saying it's invading his privacy, she edits her post with "EDIT: i take it the people who said i was a stalker didnt watch the VH1 special last night because clay said he gets TONS of fan mail at his home in NC because his moms address is LISTED IN THE PHONEBOOK. i would have looked it up myself, but i live in MASS." She is then told that Clay's mum had to get their info unlisted because of it.

Later on a friends-only post ellinger posts the following :

Ok, this is in regards to the post about Clay's address to send gifts to. OMFG people! Grow up! She asked for the address to send gifts to like so many have in the past. And the only reason any of y'all are saying "respect his privacy" is ONLY because he said something on the VH1 show. If he never mentioned that, many of you would say "Oh, when you find out what it is, will you PUHLEEZ email it to meeee???"

Most of your comments were really mean, and uncalled for.

Furthermore, as most of you probably claim to be Clay's biggest fan, do you actually think Clay himself would comment to her question the way many of you have by giving false address and making fun of her question?

87 comments in a fairly small community, and they're all glorious. I particularly like the recurring "it's those perverted fanfic writers" idea, the canon-worthy persecution complexes, the argument over the meaning of the R in MSR, and the utter lack of actual discussion of any evidence.

Proving that most x-philes are reasonable people, however, we soon get equally reasonable posts (complete with collages) positing Mulder/Skinner/Krycek and of course, the one true ship, Mulder/Queequeg.

Our original poster then requests (with a new collage, too!) that the aforementioned hecklers grow up. The Mulder/Queequeg people strike back, and it's suggested that this belongs on lj_drama-- what, is f_w dog food now?

The moderator steps in to request advice on how to end it all. Using the same 'no flames' tag that started the kerfuffle! Sadly, everyone makes nice, but luckily, the original poster soon decides to storm out. The moderator steps in again, and it winds down (for the moment) with newbies giving thanks that this finally let them figure out what 'ships were, and someone requesting links to less nautical-oriented communities.

I'm not in denialthe fandom, but I skim this community every few days, so this has been typed live as I followed the wank-- I couldn't resist. I *liked* that community because it seemed to be mostly people who cared more about the *show* than fandom, which was a breath of fresh air. Oh well, nothing lasts forever.
