4:24am: Not exactly fandom, but definitely wank!
Flames erupt on colorbar_love!

It all started with a new colorbar on the community. Colorbar found here. Comments and flames pour in! While most are the more practical "This probably should have been under an LJ Cut", there is also the wanky whining of "OMG HOW COULD YOU MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS YOU SUCK."

Meanwhile, fascists_suck makes a post about lj cutting "offensive colorbars" , "offensive" meaning stuff he doesn't like.

Random post pops up about freedom of speech .

Joy of joys, fascists_suck is made a mod. "guess what, kids."

A response to his modding

And a final post is made in which he gloats about his power. "some of you may hate me, but it seems many others adore me."

Let's go over what this anonymous person did, shall we?

Firstly: This person has viciously attacked a seemingly random writer in the fandom, MST'ing (badly) a fanfiction that (shock!) won an award in this years URA's. It seems said individual hates MST'ing, and has done this to somehow prove a point to us EVIL MST'ers who are such MONSTERS OMG!

Question: How exactly can one complain about MST'ers if one then turns around and does the exact same thing?

Secondly: Said person being attacked in the first place has never MST'd a fic without the author's express consent. So... what is this person's beef? So I step in and ask in not so many words WTF they're on about and why this person was being targeted, and why they're so fucking spineless that they had to hide behind a false name to do it.


Wank ensues.

8:04am: Museum Wank
The Minneapolis Art Institute is going to sell a painting by William Bouguereau (The Bohemian) to aquire Battledore by Albert Joseph Moore.

Artrenewal.org loves Bouguereau. A lot. And they start to wank. A lot.

3:52pm: Why not just tattoo "Wanker" on your forehead?
In one corner, we have </a></b></a>fandom_bitch, who decides to friend everyone on Cassie Claire's friendslist and then complain about her Draco Trilogy, using such wit-filled gems as:

"It'd be cliché to say one could fit a truck through the holes in the plot, but my mind is so numb after reading that fic, I'll go with it."

and

"And if you think TDT is great, what the fuck is wrong with you? Do you sleep with a cute teddybear plushie under your arm at night while dreaming of the cute boy who sits two seats in front of you in maths?"

Needless to say, some fen are not amused.

I'm sure this journal will continue to be a veritable font of wank in the future.

It starts kinda tamely. With the, y'know, anorexia is bad and what-not and then Mmmm, starving children and Anorexics should just die which is followed up by How dare you! You know nothing!

9:47pm: a small first wank
ok, here goes. My first wank. *feels all nervous and jittery* This is from my own personal addiction fandom, Magic the Gathering. Not something I'd expect to find linkable wank on.

First off, a bit of background to the wank. There is a program that's been out for a while for people who wanted to play with product for prizes online. Magic Online has had many people logging on and playing for over a year now.

They've been having major problems recently with their leagues and premiere tournaments, causing them to take them offline for a while. They now want to bring them back up, but first they need to test and make sure they've fixed the bugs.

They have a beta server which allows people to play for free but not keep any of the cards. The problem is that for leagues and premieres they need people to stay in the tournaments so they can finish some out and find out if the bugs are there. On the beta server, people tend to drop out of tournaments and move on rather quickly and it won't help Wizards get the tests they need on it.

So one of the guys helping keep Magic Online operational, Daniel Myers, set things up this way. Beta testing would be from Tuesday through Thursday and winners of said tournaments would receive prizes on the live server when it came back up. Sounds reasonable right?

Apparently not. Kenoc has a major problem and posts this, as it will "devalue his collection". People begin to respond tamely, but then Murat joins in and wank begins. Small wank so far, and in an obscure fandom, but only time will tell. :-)
